Fire Fest and CFISD Health Expo Join Forces for a Powerful Day of Safety, Wellness, and Family Fun in Cypress
One of Cypress’s favorite community traditions is coming back bigger than ever this fall. The Cy-Fair Fire Department’s Fire Fest, first launched in the early 2000s as a grassroots event to connect families with local first responders, is officially returning on Saturday, November 15, 2025, with a bold new twist: it’s joining forces with the CFISD Health Expo for a one-day, dual event at the Berry Center from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to all ages.
Together, these two cornerstone events will offer the Cypress community a rare opportunity to learn, connect, and explore everything from fire safety and live rescue demos to free flu shots, wellness screenings, and kids’ activities—all under one roof.
From Firehouse Tradition to Community Showcase
The original Fire Fest began over two decades ago as a way to showcase the skills and dedication of Cy-Fair’s local firefighters and paramedics. Over the years, it evolved into a can’t-miss family event that draws thousands, with kids climbing aboard fire trucks and parents snapping photos with smokejumpers in full gear, live fire demonstrations, safety vehicles of all types, a Life Flight helicopter, and much more.
This year’s Fire Fest will once again be hosted by the Cy-Fair Fire Department, now one of the largest fire departments in Texas. With a focus on education and engagement, this year’s event will feature:
- Live fire and rescue demonstrations
- Firefighter gear displays
- Interactive safety stations for children
- Meet-and-greet with local heroes
- Fun giveaways and hands-on experiences for the whole family
By watching real-time rescue scenarios and touring emergency vehicles, attendees of all ages can gain a deeper understanding of the bravery and training that goes into protecting the community every day.

Wellness Meets Preparedness at the CFISD Health Expo
Happening simultaneously in the same location, the CFISD Health Expo—presented in partnership with Memorial Hermann Cypress and the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce—brings the district’s commitment to public health front and center. Drawing nearly 2,500 attendees annually, the expo serves as a vital health resource for families across Northwest Houston and beyond.
This year’s Health Expo will include:
- Blood drive (sign up here: Donate Blood)
- Free flu shots
- Health screenings for all ages
- Children’s wellness activities
- Information booths from local health providers and wellness vendors
From preventing illness to learning CPR, the Health Expo empowers families to take charge of their well-being while connecting with a range of local service providers.
Why It Matters: Two Events, One Stronger Community
The decision to host Fire Fest and the CFISD Health Expo on the same day at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Rd.) isn’t just about convenience—it’s about creating a unified experience that reflects the heart of Cypress: community strength, safety, and care.
In past years, Fire Fest was held in conjunction with Cy-Fest at Lone Star College–CyFair. But this year’s pairing with the Health Expo brings together two essential pillars of community life—emergency response and public health—in a space large enough to support meaningful interaction, family fun, and impactful learning.
It’s a celebration of everything that keeps a community thriving—and a reminder that even amid fun and games, real lessons about safety, health, and civic pride are being passed on to the next generation.
