Blue Bell’s Lone Star Scoop Tour Bringing Free Ice Cream Stops Across North Houston Area This June

May 13 2026

For many Texas families, Blue Bell ice cream is more than dessert — it is part of birthdays, Little League celebrations, summer cookouts and weekend grocery runs that span generations. This June, the Brenham-based company is turning that hometown connection into a traveling community celebration as the 2026 Lone Star Scoop Tour makes several stops across North Houston and surrounding cities.

The free event series will bring Blue Bell’s branded special events truck and trailer to Kroger locations throughout Spring, The Woodlands, Montgomery, New Caney and Conroe, where residents can enjoy free hand-dipped ice cream, frozen snacks and giveaways.

The tour comes as Blue Bell Creameries continues expanding both its product lineup and national footprint in 2026, while still leaning into the community relationships that helped build the Texas-born brand over the last century.

According to Blue Bell, the Lone Star Scoop Tour was created to thank the communities that have supported the company for more than 100 years.

Blue Bell Expanding With New Flavors and High-Protein Desserts

The Lone Star Scoop Tour arrives during an especially active year for Blue Bell Creameries.

In recent months, the company introduced several new and limited-edition products, including Brookie À La Mode Ice Cream, featuring brown sugar ice cream filled with brownie chunks and chocolate chip cookie pieces. Blue Bell also released Honey Vanilla Ice Cream, a pint-sized flavor blending classic vanilla with honey sweetness.

The company is also stepping into the growing better-for-you dessert category with the launch of Blue Bell PRO, a high-protein dairy dessert line available in Chocolate, Coffee, Salted Caramel, Strawberry and Vanilla flavors. The pints contain up to 35 grams of protein, no added sugar and fewer calories, reflecting broader consumer demand for higher-protein snack options.

At the same time, Blue Bell continues expanding beyond its traditional Southern markets. Earlier this year, the company officially entered Cincinnati, Dayton and nearby Ohio communities through a new distribution center in Lebanon, Ohio. The expansion includes retail rollout efforts, local hiring and additional sampling events similar to the Lone Star Scoop Tour now traveling across Texas.

A Summer Tradition That Feels Uniquely Texas

While the company continues growing nationally, events like the Lone Star Scoop Tour highlight the local relationships that remain central to Blue Bell’s identity.

For many residents across Montgomery County and North Harris County suburbs, the tour offers a simple but familiar kind of community gathering — neighbors stopping by for a free scoop, families sharing a summer outing and local shoppers turning an ordinary grocery run into something memorable.

As summer activities ramp up across the region, the Blue Bell tour is expected to draw families looking for free things to do in Spring, The Woodlands, Conroe and surrounding communities.

Additional Texas cities and tour dates are expected to be added.
