Family Jam in Cypress to Rock for a Cause: Supporting the Texas Center for the Missing
This Saturday, June 22, the rhythm of Cypress will carry a deeper purpose as Family Jam, a live music and community celebration, brings together families, local artists, and advocates to support the Texas Center for the Missing (TCM)—a Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to locating missing persons and supporting their families.
Hosted at The Barn at the Frio (16416 Mueschke Road), doors open at noon and the first note strikes at 1 p.m. With a suggested $10 donation at entry, attendees will enjoy a lineup of popular and rising artists including Father Figures, Mandi Powell, Ziggy Moonshine, Elle Townley, and more. The family-friendly event also features a cornhole tournament, raffle prizes, and food provided by Andy’s Bar & Grill—all proceeds going directly to TCM’s life-saving programs.
A Crisis Close to Home
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, nearly 45,000 people were reported missing in Texas in 2024 alone, making it one of the leading states in the nation for missing persons. While many cases are resolved, thousands remain open—leaving families in painful limbo.
That’s where the Texas Center for the Missing steps in. Founded in 2000 after the tragic loss of 17-year-old Gabriel Lester, the organization has grown into a regional leader in missing persons response. “Our work is about bringing hope and healing, not just recovery,” a representative from TCM shared. “We support more than 100 missing persons cases each year, while educating thousands on prevention and safety.”
TCM is the sole provider of Amber Alert Issuance Training in the Greater Houston region and offers no-cost investigative tools and workshops to over 300 law enforcement officers annually. Their programs—focused on impact, preparation, and response—aim to empower families, children, and communities to prevent abductions and respond swiftly when someone goes missing.
A Jam-Packed Day of Purpose
The Family Jam lineup is stacked with local favorites including Matt Sebastian, Mike Gilbert, Marcus Breidenthal, Ian Guillory, Paul Noyola, Brian Taylor, Adam Patrick, Dylan Rhys, and Henry Williams. Headlining the show, Father Figures is a throwback trio of fun-loving dads who bring the best of ’90s country to life—complete with cold beer, dad jokes, and a whole lot of heart. Their nostalgic set and infectious energy promise to deliver both laughs and toe-tapping joy to the Family Jam crowd.
In addition to music, guests can enjoy an energetic cornhole tournament, participate in a raffle filled with local goodies, and savor mouthwatering eats courtesy of Andy’s Bar & Grill. Cold drinks and shaded seating will keep the summer heat at bay while families and friends connect over a meaningful cause.
More Than a Party—A Promise
As attendees dance, snack, and compete, every dollar raised will go toward TCM’s mission to bring missing persons home and provide long-term support to the families left searching. TCM continues to honor its founding mission: walking beside families from the first moment of a disappearance to the hopeful day of reunion—or the difficult moments after.
Organizers encourage residents of Cypress, Tomball, and Greater Houston to attend and share the message. "It’s about music, yes—but it’s also about memory, justice, and hope," said one organizer. "Together, we can make a difference for families who deserve answers.”
