Experience the Joy of Giving at the 2024 Festival of Trees with Cy-Fair Helping Hands

September 24 2024

Local nonprofit Cy-Fair Helping Hands (CFHH) is busily preparing for its annual Festival of Trees, set to take place on November 9, 2024 in Lindsay Lakes, located at 16536 Mueschke Road. Known for its festive ambiance and heartwarming purpose, the event has become a beloved tradition for Cy-Fair business owners, local leaders, residents and beyond.

From 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, (with an exclusive VIP hour from 6:00 pm), guests will be immersed in a winter wonderland filled with a dazzling array of decorated trees and wreaths, all while enjoying dinner and dessert, cocktails and mocktails, live music, a bourbon pull, and a silent auction, among other activities. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on trees and wreaths, with winners taking home ready-made decor for their festive displays.

But the Festival of Trees offers more than just delightful entertainment - it provides a platform for community members to contribute to a powerful cause. Anyone can donate a decorated tree or wreath to be displayed at the event and included in the auction. Those interested are encouraged to use high-quality, non-edible, and non-hazardous materials to adorn their trees or wreaths, which will need to be delivered to CFHH at 9204 Emmott Road, Houston, TX 77040 by November 4.

Created over a steaming pot of soup and a pick-up truck, CFHH was originally founded to assist the homeless population of Cy-Fair in becoming self-sufficient. Its inception was the heartfelt brainchild of Jean and John Dreyer, who initially stored food, clothes, and supplies for the homeless in their garage. The couple later liquidated their antique business to fund CFHH.

Since its establishment in 2010, CFHH has significantly expanded its services beyond its original focus. Today, its community food pantry, emergency shelter for families with children, scholarships for underprivileged students, homeless street outreach, homeless day center, and programs for Cy-Fair ISD students serve to uplift the most vulnerable members of the community. In 2023 alone, CFHH served 32,062 individuals with 543,342 pounds of food through the Food Pantry, with also 6,325 meals provided to the homeless. Furthermore, they facilitated 3,388 nights of shelter.

The Festival of Trees provides a unique opportunity to contribute to this compassionate mission. Participation can take various forms, such as event sponsorship, table sponsorship for gathering friends or colleagues, or simply attending the event. Tickets are priced at $100 each, with all proceeds directly funneling into CFHH’s vital programs.

For additional information or to purchase tickets, tables, and sponsorships for the 2024 Festival of Trees, please visit the event website. Participate in this magical event and become a part of the Cy-Fair Helping Hands story.
