Enjoy Frosty Fridays at Katy Parks This Month
Did you know that July is Parks and Recreation Month?
Since 1985, people in the United States have celebrated Park and Recreation Month in July to promote building strong, vibrant and resilient communities through the power of parks and recreation and to recognize the more than 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals — along with hundreds of thousands of part-time and seasonal workers and volunteers — that maintain our country’s local, state and community parks.
In celebration, your Katy Parks and Recreation team is bringing back Frosty Fridays! Enjoy a refreshing treat on hot summer days as freeze pops are passed out to park enthusiasts. Get there quick enough and you might even get some cool Parks and Recreation swag.
This Friday, July 14, stop by VFW Park from 3:00 to 4:00 PM with your friends, family, and furry companions for FREE icy goodness! Check the Katy Parks and Recreation Facebook page each week to see where they will be that Friday. Don't miss out on this frozen delight, happening every Friday throughout July!
Keep the celebration going by visiting parks near you that you have yet to explore. Go to our "Parks and Recreation" page for a comprehensive listing of parks in the Katy/Fulshear region and pick a park that's new to you, then make a plan to visit! Getting outside is good for the soul. Just be sure to bring sunscreen and plenty of water to stay hydrated.
