Enjoy a Month of Gaming Fun this November at LSC-CyFair
No matter your age, interest or competitive spirit, there is a game designed just for you and this November, Lone Star College-CyFair’s Library is the place to celebrate International Games Month.
The library will feature a variety of game-related activities for college and community visitors all month long as well as several specific game-themed programming aimed at different age groups.
Everything is bigger in Texas including the giant versions of popular games, such as Chess, Boggle, Yahtzee and more that will be available throughout November. Puzzle tables are also back by popular demand, so come, sit down and relax with the latest puzzle.
Programs of the month for ages 18+ include Games as Stress Relievers, ESL Game Nights, and two Board Game Playground days to sample various board games as well as guest speaker discussions on mystery games and types of board games.
Teens and adults who want to try out different video game systems will have three days of open play in the Teen Room.

And for some Saturday family fun, there will be a family jigsaw puzzle tournament Nov. 9 and a Pokeman and Lorcana Game Time Nov. 16.
This month-long celebration is held to raise awareness of games and gaming and has become a valuable way for libraries and their communities to join together and engage in play each year.
Did you know this annual free day of fun began with National Games Day in 2007 as an idea to attempt to set a world’s record for the number of people playing the same game at the same time at libraries around the world? It then became International Games Day (IGD) in 2012, International Games Week (IGW) in 2017, and finally International Games Month (IGM) in 2022.
In addition, there are many benefits of gaming, such as stress relief, eye-hand coordination, enhancement of memory and cognitive skills, and providing an enjoyable way to relax and spend time with family and friends.
