Elgin Recreation Center Memberships Now Include Free Summer Pool Passes for Morris Memorial Pool
For Elgin families looking for an affordable way to stay active and cool off this summer, a Recreation Center membership now offers an added benefit: a free summer pool pass to Morris Memorial Pool.
The included pool access could make a meaningful difference for parents planning several family outings during the warmer months. Instead of paying admission each time they visit the pool, eligible members can use their person-specific swim passes throughout the summer while also receiving the other benefits of an Elgin Recreation Center membership.
How Elgin Recreation Center Members Can Get a Free Pool Pass
Residents who already have an active Elgin Recreation Center membership can stop by the Recreation Center during regular operating hours and speak with a staff member at the front desk.
Those who are not yet members can sign up in person. Once the membership process is complete, staff will provide an individual swim pass that can be taken directly to Morris Memorial Pool.
Members simply show the pass when entering the pool to receive admission for the summer.
Each person must have an individual Recreation Center membership and a corresponding swim pass. The passes are not issued as a single household pass that can be shared among relatives or friends.
Family Membership Could Reduce the Cost of Summer Pool Visits
A monthly Elgin Recreation Center membership for a family of four Elgin residents costs $50 and includes pool passes for all four registered family members.
That pricing may provide significant savings for families planning to visit Morris Memorial Pool more than once or twice each month.
Depending on the ages of the swimmers, one pool visit for a family of four can cost as much as $20 when paying regular admission. Three outings at that rate would total $60, already exceeding the monthly family membership price by $10.
Families visiting six times could otherwise spend as much as $120 on individual pool admission. Under that example, the $50 monthly Recreation Center membership would save the household as much as $70 while also providing access to Recreation Center amenities.
The more often a participating family uses the pool and Recreation Center, the greater the potential value of the membership.
Pool Passes Are Issued to Individual Members
City officials are reminding residents that Morris Memorial Pool passes are person-specific.
Each family member must be listed as an Elgin Recreation Center member to receive a separate pass. Swim passes cannot be shared, transferred or borrowed by another person.
Improperly sharing a pass may result in the loss of pool access without a refund, so families should make sure every swimmer brings the pass issued in that person’s name.
What Elgin Residents Should Know Before Visiting
Residents interested in the free summer pool pass should visit the Elgin Recreation Center, located at 361 State Hwy 95, Elgin, TX 78621, during operating hours and ask about membership options at the front desk.
Staff members can assist with registration and issue the appropriate Morris Memorial Pool pass after the membership is established.
For local families balancing summer activities with household expenses, the combined Recreation Center membership and seasonal pool access offers another way to enjoy recreation close to home without paying for every pool visit separately.
