Discover the Teacher in the Library Program at Mission Bend Branch Library

September 11 2024

Residents of the Lost Creek neighborhood are in for a treat! The Fort Bend County Libraries system is thrilled to bring back the Teacher in the Library program at the Mission Bend Branch Library, which recently began on September 3, 2024. This invaluable service offers FREE homework help for students in grades 3 through 6, providing access to qualified teachers right at the local library, about 14 minutes from Lakemont.

About the Program
The Teacher in the Library program provides after-school assistance from qualified teachers, available Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Students can benefit from:

  • Help with completing homework assignments
  • Preparation for tests
  • Improvement in study habits
  • Guidance on using library databases and electronic resources
  • Increased confidence in their academic abilities

No appointments are needed, and there is NO COST to participate. Students are welcome to drop in during the tutoring hours at the Mission Bend Branch Library, located at 8421 Addicks Clodine Rd, Houston, TX 77083. For added convenience, the program is also available at the Missouri City Branch Library.

Why Participate?
The Teacher in the Library program aims to enhance the classroom learning experience by offering additional support and boosting students' self-confidence. With personalized attention from experienced teachers, students can receive the help they need in a supportive and safe environment. This is a great opportunity for students to get assistance with challenging homework or to get ahead in their studies.

Students can attend as often or as little as needed, depending on their schedules and homework needs. For more information, call the Mission Bend Branch Library at 832-471-5900 or email mbpublic@fortbend.lib.tx.us further details and assistance. This program is an excellent resource for those looking to supplement their child's education with extra support and encouragement.
