Cypress Springs High School Senior Named CFISD Student of the Week
Cypress Springs High School senior Madison Tanner is praised by her teachers for being an outstanding and well-rounded student.

Accomplishments: Madison has achieved the A/B honor roll every academic year. She has also been a dedicated member of the cheerleading team for over three years and proudly earned a varsity letter for the past three years. Additionally, she has been promoted in her workplace due to outstanding performance and she has also been accepted into her dream college, Sam Houston State University as well as Prairie View A&M University, Baylor University, University of Texas at San Antonio and the University of Texas at Dallas.
Favorite class: “My favorite class is Teacher Preparation because this class teaches me the basics and structure of my dream job. I have wanted to be a teacher since kindergarten and I finally get to live that dream with this class.”
Favorite things to do after class: “I enjoy working at my current job, HEB, and I also like to do homework, practice driving, and paint. I also find music to be my escape from reality, particularly R&B and gospel music.”
Favorite Song: “My favorite songs are Reason by Cleo Sol and Think About You by Frank Ocean.”
Favorite Website/App: “Canva is my favorite website because it allows me to create effective presentations which is advantageous as I grow to become a teacher. Plus, I love making them.”

Favorite TV show: “My favorite TV show is Full House/Fuller House. This show portrays the idea and characteristics of a loving family as they experience a lot of celebrations, events and hardships.”
Favorite movie: “Since I was a little girl, my all-time favorite movie has been The Princess and the Frog. I have always been a daddy’s girl and this movie portrays that relationship so well, even from the African American perspective.”
Ambition: “My ambition is to successfully finish high school, obtain my diploma and earn my associate degree. I plan to spend four years at Sam Houston University and finish strong.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “The topic I am passionate about is the Black Lives Matter movement. I am concerned about the future of education in this world and I am very passionate about cooking. I love to learn new things about food within different cultures because it is so interesting.”
What inspires you?: “The incredible resilience of people in tough situations amazes me. My strength and determination have not only transformed my life but also inspired me to support myself during both dark and good times. Another source of inspiration for me is my hardworking parents. They always push me to be the best I can be and to strive for success in this world and I feel blessed for that.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “The three things I can’t live without are my family, my phone and food.”
