Cypress Assistance Ministries’ Gift a Gown 2026 Returns to Support CFISD Students with Free Prom Attire Across Cypress and Northwest Houston

February 23 2026

As prom season approaches in Cypress and the greater Cy-Fair area, Cypress Assistance Ministries (CAM) is once again stepping in to make sure cost doesn’t stand in the way of a milestone memory. The nonprofit’s annual Gift a Gown 2026 initiative is officially underway, inviting the community to donate new or gently used formalwear so https://www.cfisd.net/(CFISD) students can receive free prom attire and accessories this spring.

Running from February 16 through May 1, 2026, the program provides complimentary gowns, suits, tuxedos, shoes and accessories to local students — reinforcing a simple but powerful message: every teenager deserves the chance to experience prom without financial stress.

Why Gift a Gown Matters to Cypress Families

For many families in Cypress, Jersey Village, Tomball and Northwest Houston, prom season brings both excitement and financial pressure. Formal dresses and tuxedos can range from $200 to $500 or more, not including shoes, alterations, hair styling or photography.

By offering free prom dresses and suits for CFISD students, CAM helps ease that burden for households already navigating rising living costs. The initiative ensures students can focus on celebrating with classmates rather than worrying about affordability.

Hosted through CAM’s well-known resale outlet, Angels’ Attic Resale Store, the program reflects the nonprofit’s broader mission of strengthening families through practical, community-supported solutions.

How the 2026 Prom Dress Donation Drive Works

Community members are encouraged to gather:

  • New or gently used evening gowns
  • Suits and tuxedos
  • Dress shirts
  • Formal shoes
  • Jewelry and accessories

Items should be clean and in good condition. Donations can be dropped off at one of several Cypress-area Gift a Gown collection sites, making participation convenient for residents throughout the region.

Raffle Gifts and Service Partners Needed

In addition to clothing donations, CAM is seeking local professionals willing to contribute in-kind raffle items or services. Hairstylists, barbers, nail technicians, estheticians, florists, photographers, retailers and other small businesses are invited to participate.

Gift cards and service donations help students complete their prom look — from hair and makeup to corsages and portraits — making the evening even more special.

A Community Effort Rooted in Local Support

Gift a Gown is made possible through collaboration between Cypress Assistance Ministries, Angels’ Attic Resale Store, and Community Impact, alongside a growing list of local collection partners.

The initiative highlights what makes Cypress and the Cy-Fair area distinct: neighbors stepping up for neighbors. From small business owners to local coffee shops and community organizations, the program demonstrates how collective action can directly impact students’ lives.

Each donated item is carefully prepared and made available to eligible CFISD students through Angels’ Attic, transforming pre-loved formalwear into a source of pride and celebration.
