Cy Springs, Cy Creek Capture District Titles; Seven CFISD Teams Head to Playoffs

The stage is set for an exciting postseason as Cypress Springs and Cypress Creek High Schools secured their respective district championships, leading seven CFISD teams into the UIL Class 6A boys' basketball playoffs. After a competitive regular season, these teams now turn their focus to the bi-district round, where they will battle for a chance to continue their championship pursuits.

Cy Springs, Cy Creek Dominate District Play

Cypress Springs High School clinched the District 16-6A championship, finishing the season with an impressive 12-2 district record. Hot on their heels, Cypress Lakes and Cypress Ranch High Schools each finished 11-3, while Cypress Woods High School secured a postseason berth with an 8-6 record.

Meanwhile, in District 17-6A, Cypress Creek High School emerged as the district champion with a dominant 13-1 record. Cypress Falls and Cy-Fair High Schools finished tied for second at 11-3, while Stratford High School of Spring ISD rounded out the playoff qualifiers with an 8-6 record.

Bi-District Playoff Matchups Set for Feb. 18

With the UIL Region II and Region III-6A playoffs beginning on Feb. 18, all seven CFISD teams will face formidable opponents in the opening round.

Region II-6A Playoff Matchups
  • Cypress Springs vs. Tomball Memorial – 7:30 p.m. at Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road)
  • Cypress Lakes vs. Klein Collins – 7 p.m. at Tomball High School (30330 Quinn Road)
  • Cypress Ranch vs. Klein Forest – 7 p.m. at Klein High School (16715 Stuebner Airline Road)
  • Cypress Woods vs. Klein – 7 p.m. at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road)

Region III-6A Playoff Matchups
  • Cypress Creek vs. Houston Lamar – 6 p.m. at Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road)
  • Cypress Falls vs. Houston Westside – 7 p.m. at Cypress Ridge High School (7900 N. Eldridge Parkway)
  • Cy-Fair vs. Houston Bellaire – 7:30 p.m. at Delmar Fieldhouse (2020 Mangum Road)

Tickets and Attendance Information

Tickets are available for $5 per person (adults and students). Fans looking to support Cypress Springs, Cypress Lakes, Cypress Ranch, Cypress Woods, Cypress Creek, and Cypress Falls can purchase tickets online through CFISD’s ticketing system. Cy-Fair game tickets will be sold through Houston ISD's ticketing platform.

Postseason Hopes Run High

With strong performances in the regular season, CFISD teams are entering the 2025 UIL boys’ basketball playoffs with momentum and confidence. Cypress Springs and Cypress Creek, both district champions, are looking to extend their seasons deep into February and beyond. Meanwhile, teams like Cypress Lakes, Cypress Ranch, and Cy-Fair are eager to prove themselves in the competitive Class 6A playoff bracket.

Basketball fans in Cy-Fair and Cypress won’t want to miss the chance to watch these top teams in action as they compete for a spot in the area round of the UIL playoffs.
