Cy Ranch Claims 16-6A Volleyball Title as Five CFISD Teams Advance to Playoffs
As the regular season wrapped up on October 24, the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District is celebrating another strong showing on the volleyball court, with five powerhouse teams punching their tickets to the UIL Class 6A playoffs.
At the top of the standings, Cypress Ranch High School once again showed its dominance, claiming the District 16-6A championship with an impressive 13-1 record. This marks the Mustangs’ fifth consecutive district title, a milestone that reflects the program’s ongoing excellence and consistency.
Joining Cy Ranch in the postseason from District 16-6A are Cypress Woods High School, which finished second at 12-2, and Bridgeland High School, which closed out the regular season with an 11-3 record.
The final spot in the district was decided in a dramatic play-in match between Langham Creek and Waller High School, who ended the regular season tied at 7-7. Waller emerged victorious, earning the district’s fourth seed.
Over in District 17-6A, Jersey Village and Cy-Fair High School are also preparing for playoff runs. Jersey Village earned the third seed with a 9-5 district record, while Cy-Fair secured the fourth seed at 8-6.
