Cy-Hope’s Christmas Assistance Program Returns to Brighten Holidays for Cypress Children in Need

November 13 2025

As the holiday season approaches, Cy-Hope is once again rallying the Cy-Fair and Cypress communities to bring hope, joy, and a little Christmas magic to children in need through its annual Christmas Assistance Program.

The heartwarming initiative offers local residents the opportunity to “adopt” a child, helping to ensure that no child in the community goes without a gift under the tree. Participants receive a child's clothing and shoe sizes along with a short wish list to guide their shopping. While Cy-Hope suggests budgeting $75–$100 per child, donors are welcome to give as generously as they feel inspired.

Gifts should be dropped off unwrapped at Cy-Hope’s main location, 12715 Telge Road in Cypress, between December 10–12 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, along with any optional wrapping supplies like paper, tape, and bows. These donated supplies will allow families to wrap the gifts themselves, preserving the joy and tradition of giving within the home.

“This program is about more than gifts—it’s about restoring dignity, creating joy, and reminding every child that they matter,” said Robyn Ficalora, a Cy-Hope representative. “By adopting a child, you’re doing more than shopping. You’re helping create beautiful holiday memories and offering hope that lasts far beyond Christmas morning.”

In a year when many families continue to feel the strain of economic uncertainty, programs like this one are more critical than ever. Cy-Hope’s effort is especially meaningful in the Cy-Fair and Cypress areas, where thousands of children qualify for assistance through school programs, and many households struggle to meet basic needs, let alone holiday extras.

Cy-Hope works year-round to empower underserved children through a variety of outreach programs, including Hope Centers, mentoring, tutoring, and life skills training. But during the holidays, the organization’s focus shifts to helping families celebrate with dignity, generosity, and joy.

To participate in the 2025 Cy-Hope Christmas Assistance Program, individuals, families, churches, civic groups, and businesses can sign up online via the official registration link here. Once registered, participants will receive detailed instructions, including the name and wishlist of the child they are sponsoring.

“This is a tangible way to show love in action,” said Ficalora. “Each year, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of our community, and we’re so thankful for every single person who steps forward to make a difference.”

For more information or questions about the program, email robyn.ficalora@cy-hope.org. Whether it’s your first time participating or a cherished family tradition, Cy-Hope invites everyone in the Cypress and Cy-Fair areas to help make the holidays a little brighter for local kids this Christmas.

Let’s come together as a community to spread hope, one child at a time.
