Braden Mann, a former Cy-Fair High School football standout, added another milestone to his career on February 9, 2025, as he took the field with the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles secured a commanding 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, marking a moment of pride for Mann’s hometown of Cypress, Texas.
A key figure in the Eagles’ special teams unit, Mann has become a recognizable name in the NFL, but his football journey began in Cy-Fair ISD, where he developed his skills and passion for the game. His success serves as an inspiration to young athletes in the Cypress community, proving that dedication and perseverance can lead to the highest levels of achievement.

A Cypress-Born Talent
Mann, born on November 24, 1997, played varsity football for Cy-Fair High School before graduating in 2016. Known for his powerful leg as both a kicker and punter, he earned national attention while playing in the prestigious Under Armour All-America Game. His time at Cy-Fair High laid the groundwork for an impressive collegiate career at Texas A&M University.
At Texas A&M, Mann cemented his place in football history. During his junior season, he won the Ray Guy Award, given to the nation’s best punter, and earned unanimous All-American honors. He set multiple NCAA records, including the highest single-season punting average and the most punts of 60-plus yards in a season. His dominance in special teams earned him first-team All-SEC honors and SEC Special Teams Player of the Year in 2018.

Following his standout college career, Mann was drafted by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He quickly made an impact, leading the league in punting yards during his rookie season and earning recognition for a crucial open-field tackle. Despite a knee injury in his second season, he remained a reliable special teams player before being waived by the Jets in 2023.
Mann briefly joined the Pittsburgh Steelers before finding stability with the Philadelphia Eagles in October 2023. With the Eagles, he showcased his talent, executing a successful fake punt and earning NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors in December 2023. His strong performance led to a two-year contract extension in March 2024, solidifying his place on the team through the 2025 season.
Hometown Pride for Braden Mann
As Mann took the field for Super Bowl LIX, support poured in from his hometown of Cypress, where he first made his mark as an athlete. Hamilton Middle School, where his mother, Pam Coberley Mann, is a coach and PE teacher, celebrated his achievement on social media.
“We are beyond thrilled to celebrate our incredible Tiger Alumnus, Braden Mann, son of our stellar Coach Mann, for making it to the Super Bowl! Your hard work, dedication, and passion have truly paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of your achievements,” the school shared in a Facebook post. “You continue to inspire us all, showing that with determination and perseverance, anything is possible. Let’s rally together and cheer for Braden and his team as they take the field on the biggest stage in football! Go, Eagles!”

Mann’s mother also expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from the Cypress community.
“Thank you to everyone for the incredible support!!!! This seems very surreal for all of us and Braden feels very blessed by the amount of support he has received along the entire journey!” she shared. “Braden’s message to kids will always be: Have unwavering faith, work your tail off even when nobody is watching, and don’t let anyone create your path… Make your own path!”
