Cy-Fair High School Theatre Brings Oz to the Holidays with 'A Wicked Christmas Carol'
What do you get when you mix the Land of Oz with a classic holiday ghost story? Cy-Fair High School Theatre has the answer in their upcoming production of A Wicked Christmas Carol, a reimagined holiday play by Bobby Keniston that’s set to charm audiences of all ages this December.
Performances will take place at the Berry Center on Friday, December 12 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, December 13 with shows at both 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Tickets are available now at cfhstheatretickets.ludus.com, with prices set at $15 for adults, $10 for students, and just $5 for children 5 and under.
This holiday-themed mashup fuses the beloved world of The Wizard of Oz with the redemptive spirit of A Christmas Carol, placing the Wicked Witch of the West in the role of the one who must learn the true meaning of Christmas. But instead of being haunted by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, she is visited by none other than Glinda, Dorothy, and the familiar trio of the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Cowardly Lion.
The story follows the Wicked Witch on Christmas Eve as she is confronted with the impact of her actions on Oz. With the clock ticking, the characters we all know and love work together to melt her icy heart before Christmas morning. It's a story of transformation, friendship, and the power of hope—wrapped in humor and holiday cheer.
