Cy-Fair Helping Hands to Host Drive-Thru Food Distribution Event

July 10 2024

In a time when community is more important than ever, Cy-Fair Helping Hands (CFHH) has stepped up to provide crucial support to those in need. The 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, partnered with the Houston Food Bank and World Changers Church Houston, is hosting a drive-thru food distribution event on Friday, July 12th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

CFHH's roots can be traced back to the compassion of Jean and John Dreyer, a Cy-Fair couple who made it their mission to minister to the homeless living on the streets of Northwest Houston. Their legacy of kindness has now blossomed into an organization that aims to help the homeless of Cy-Fair become self-sufficient.

From its humble beginnings in 2010, CFHH has grown significantly. It now offers a Community Food Pantry, allowing it to serve not only the homeless but also the hungry. It provides for their struggling neighbors with a range of programs including Emergency Shelter for families with children, scholarships for underprivileged students, a Homeless Day Center, and events and programs during the holidays and back-to-school time.

While the drive-thru food distribution was planned before Hurricane Beryl struck, its timing couldn't be more perfect. The event comes as a much-needed relief for those affected by the storm, demonstrating again CFHH's unwavering commitment to offer support in the toughest of times.

The drive-thru food distribution will be held at the World Changers Church located at 7934 Hwy 6 N, Houston, TX 77095. Participants are required to bring photo ID and must live within CFISD boundaries. The line for distribution starts at 8:30 AM and will proceed while supplies last.

CFHH's sustained efforts to uplift their community have always been made possible by caring individuals, churches, businesses, and organizations that fund its programs. In the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, their work takes on even more significance, ensuring that those in need don't go without.
