Cy-Fair Helping Hands Partners with DoorDash
Houston, TX: Cy-Fair Helping Hands (CFHH) has a new way to get food to our neighbors in need. The non-profit is partnering with DoorDash to help deliver essential food and toiletry items to seniors, those who are homebound, people without reliable transportation, and others who simply need a helping hand. As part of its Project DASH initiative, DoorDash drivers will pick up boxes and bags of food and other necessities from CFHH’s Food Pantry and make contactless deliveries to homes, allowing the organization to better serve vulnerable people in our community. All free of charge to the nonprofit.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to partner with DoorDash,” said Janet Ryan, CFHH’s Executive Director. “This collaboration allows us to serve people with no transportation, those who are homebound, and even moms with multiple small children who have such a stressful time waiting in the long lines to get food for their families. This partnership will also help to alleviate the long lines outside of the Food Pantry, making it a better experience for everyone.”
Cy-Fair Helping Hands said the program will emphasize “convenience, privacy, and dignity” for their clients. “Clients cannot tip drivers, so there is no pressure for them. The only requirement other than meeting financial-based criteria for the Pantry is that their homes must be within a 10-mile radius as the crow flies,” stated Ryan.
