Cy-Fair Helping Hands Launches Clothing Drive for Students in Need Ahead of 2025-26 School Year
As the 2024-2025 school year draws to a close, Cy-Fair Helping Hands (CFHH) is calling on local families to set aside new and gently used clothing and shoes for students in need. The nonprofit’s annual Back to School Bash, scheduled for late July, provides free clothes, school supplies, and other essentials to underserved children in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD community.
“We’d greatly appreciate it if you would please put a few new and gently used clothing items and shoes aside for our client families,” CFHH urged in a community message. “These should be age appropriate for kinder through high school students.”
How and When to Donate
CFHH encourages donors to sort items by size and deliver them in manageable boxes or bags. While the nonprofit will host the distribution event just before the start of the 2025-2026 school year, they’re asking supporters to hold onto clothing donations until mid-July due to limited storage space. The final deadline to drop off clothing is Monday, July 21, 2025.
Donation drop-off times and location:
-
Where: Cy-Fair Helping Hands, 9204 Emmott Road, Houston, TX 77040
-
When: Mondays, Thursdays, and 1st/3rd Saturdays
-
Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Rising Need in the Cy-Fair Area
The Cy-Fair community continues to see growing economic disparities, especially among school-aged children. According to Cy-Fair ISD statistics, approximately 52% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch, a common indicator of financial need. CFISD is one of the largest districts in Texas, serving over 118,000 students, and its size means even a small percentage translates to thousands of children in need.
Clothing insecurity can have a tangible effect on a student’s confidence, attendance, and academic performance. “Your kindness will bring happiness to our client families,” CFHH emphasized.
About Cy-Fair Helping Hands
Founded in 2010, Cy-Fair Helping Hands serves the homeless and those at risk of homelessness in northwest Houston. Through programs like their Homeless Street Outreach, Client Choice Food Pantry, and Back to School Bash, the organization strives to provide not only immediate assistance but long-term stability.
The annual school supply and clothing drive has become a vital resource for families facing hardship, offering them the dignity of choice through a shopping-style experience. CFHH’s mission is fueled by community generosity—residents, churches, schools, and businesses all play a key role in making their outreach successful.
