Cy-Fair Educational Foundation Awards Nearly $1 Million in Scholarships to CFISD Seniors at Annual Reception

July 01 2024

To help support the educational goals of some of Cy-Fair ISD's (CFISD) most exemplary students, Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (CFEF) recognized 151 deserving students with scholarships during their annual Scholarship Reception held at The Berry Center on June 11, 2024. In total, the foundation awarded over $900,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from CFISD, according to a release issued by the organization.

Throughout the evening, each recipient was personally honored on stage in front of their peers, families, trustees, sponsors, and donors. Following the ceremony, students got the chance to mingle with the various donors and officials who helped make their academic journeys possible.

Established in 1970, CFEF has a long-standing tradition of supporting student success and shaping futures. To date, the foundation has provided an astounding $13.4 million in scholarships to CFISD graduates and has additionally contributed over $4 million towards staff development. Long-standing board member Robert Adam, has devoted over half a century of service to the cause, a passion now shared by his daughters who also serve on the board.

Driven by a mission to empower learners and future leaders through higher education, CFEF works tirelessly to continue funding these much-needed scholarships, especially as the student population of CFISD grows and opens new high schools. In 2017, CFEF expanded its reach to the then-new Bridgeland High School, demonstrating its commitment to supporting students district-wide.

Despite the foundation's rich history and significant contributions, the need for scholarship funding continues to grow. As the cost of education increases and the District continues to grow, CFEF remains steadfast in its mission, extending their reach to more high schools and raising funds to support the burgeoning CFISD student population.
