Copperfield Neighbors Rally Around Family After River Garden Drive House Fire
The Copperfield community is coming together to support a local family after a house fire on River Garden Drive left their home heavily damaged over the Fourth of July weekend. While the incident ended without injuries, neighbors have quickly stepped forward to offer help as the family begins the difficult process of recovery.
According to the Cy-Fair Fire Department, crews responded to the fire on the night of July 4 in the Copperfield subdivision, where they encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions at the rear of the home. Fortunately, all residents were able to escape safely.
Community member Alexandria Rosales has been helping organize support efforts through the Copperfield Southdown Village neighborhood Facebook group. In a July 5 post, she encouraged anyone interested in helping to reach out directly as plans were being coordinated.
The following day, Rosales shared an encouraging update, letting neighbors know the family had been contacted and was deeply touched by the community's response.
"They are EXTREMELY moved by the outpouring of support," she wrote, adding that additional resources and ways to assist would be shared as they become available.
While support efforts continue, the Cy-Fair Fire Department also confirmed the cause of the fire, saying it was started by the improper disposal of fireworks. The department is reminding residents that used fireworks should be soaked in water for at least eight hours before being thrown away to help prevent fires after holiday celebrations.
With Independence Day celebrations now behind them, the incident serves as a reminder that fireworks can remain hazardous long after they've burned out.
For now, Copperfield residents are doing what communities often do in difficult moments—coming together to help neighbors rebuild. Those interested in supporting the family are encouraged to watch for updates from Alexandria Rosales through the Copperfield Southdown Village community Facebook group as additional resources and needs are announced.
