Copperfield Families Invited to Join Langham Creek Bailadoras for Bailadora Buddies Game Night
For elementary-age children who have watched the Langham Creek High School Bailadoras perform from the stands and wondered what it would be like to join in the excitement, an upcoming Friday night football game is offering that chance.
Registration is now open for Bailadora Buddies, a game-night experience that will pair children in kindergarten through fifth grade with members of the Langham Creek High School Bailadoras on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at the Berry Center. The Langham Creek Lobos football game begins at 7 p.m.
For families in Copperfield and across the Langham Creek community, the event offers younger children more than a seat in the stands. Participants will get an up-close look at the traditions, teamwork and school spirit that are part of a Langham Creek football night.
What Bailadora Buddies Will Experience
Throughout the evening, each participating child will be paired with a Bailadora and take part in activities that are normally seen from the sidelines, including Lobo Lines and stand routines. Buddies will also cheer on the Langham Creek Lobos and watch the Bailadoras perform during halftime.
The experience is designed for children in kindergarten through fifth grade, giving younger students an opportunity to spend time with high school dancers they may already recognize from football games, pep rallies and community events.
The cost is $45 per buddy, and advance registration and payment are required to hold a participant's spot. The registration deadline is Sept. 15.
Parents and guardians should note that their own admission to the football game is not included with the Bailadora Buddies registration. Buddy parents will need to purchase a game ticket separately, and organizers said additional event details will be provided closer to Sept. 18.
A Langham Creek Tradition Built Around Dance and School Spirit
The Bailadora Buddies event also introduces younger students to a program that has become a familiar part of Langham Creek High School life.
The Langham Creek High School Bailadoras are the school's award-winning dance team, representing Langham Creek at football games, pep rallies, dance competitions and performances throughout the school year. The team's schedule extends well beyond football season, with competition preparation typically running through the winter before attention turns to its annual spring show. Bailadoras also attend summer dance camps to continue building technique, learning choreography and strengthening the team.
That commitment comes with plenty of work behind the polished performances residents see on game nights. According to the Bailadoras organization, members balance rehearsals with academics while developing skills in discipline, teamwork, time management and perseverance.
The team is part of a Langham Creek High School tradition dating back decades. Langham Creek opened its current campus in 1985 as the fourth high school built in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, and the school adopted the Lobo mascot in recognition of the area's history as a place once known as Wolf Corners.
The Bailadoras continue to represent the school both locally and beyond campus. CFISD has recognized Langham Creek dancers in district and statewide honors, including Bailadora Emily Johnson's selection to the Texas Dance Educators Association All-State Dance Team for the 2024-25 school year.
A Chance for Younger Lobos to See Themselves in the Tradition
Events such as Bailadora Buddies create a connection between current Langham Creek students and the younger children who may one day walk the same halls.
For a kindergartner or elementary student in Copperfield, spending a football night beside a Bailadora can make the traditions of the local high school feel a little closer — whether that child eventually pursues dance, joins another school organization or simply grows up cheering for the Lobos.
It is also part of a broader effort by the Bailadoras and their supporting parent organization to connect with the community. The Bailadoras host special events and dance opportunities throughout the year, while their parent organization provides support for needs that can include costumes, instruction, performances, competitions, travel and scholarships.
