Converse 2026 Community Cleanups Offer Residents a Simple Way to Declutter and Strengthen Neighborhood Pride

March 19 2026

For many families in Converse, Texas, spring cleaning often comes with one big question: what do you do with the items that won’t fit in a regular trash bin? In 2026, the City of Converse is making that answer easier—and more community-driven—through its scheduled Converse 2026 Community Cleanups, a series of free bulk item drop-off events designed specifically for residents.

Held monthly at the Converse Senior Center Parking Lot (405 S Seguin Rd, Converse, TX 78109), these cleanups offer more than just convenience. They represent an ongoing effort to keep neighborhoods clean, reduce illegal dumping, and give residents a shared sense of ownership over the appearance and health of their community.

When and Where: 2026 Cleanup Schedule in Converse

Residents can participate in the City of Converse cleanup events from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the following dates (or until containers fill up):

  • March 21
  • April 18
  • May 16
  • June 20
  • July 18
  • August 15
  • September 19
  • October 17

All events take place at the Converse Senior Center parking lot, a central and accessible location for residents across the city.

For homeowners, families, and renters alike, these consistent monthly opportunities remove the guesswork from disposing of bulky household items.

What Items Are Accepted at Converse Community Cleanup Events?

The program is designed to handle the types of items that often pile up in garages, yards, or storage spaces. Accepted items include:

  • Furniture
  • Mattresses
  • Washers and dryers
  • Refrigerators (without CFCs)
  • Drained water heaters
  • BBQ grills (without fuel tanks)
  • Carpeting (cut into four-foot bundles)
  • Sinks and toilets

By offering disposal for these larger items, the program helps residents avoid costly hauling fees while keeping neighborhoods free of clutter.

What You Cannot Bring

To ensure safety and proper waste handling, several materials are not accepted at the Converse cleanups, including:

  • Appliances containing Freon
  • Batteries and electronics
  • Paint or stain products
  • Tires and vehicle parts
  • Concrete, brick, asphalt, or roofing materials
  • Construction debris
  • Gasoline, oil, and filters
  • Items from contractors or businesses

Residents needing to dispose of hazardous materials can contact WM’s At Your Door Special Collection® service for alternative solutions.

Free Paper Shredding Events for Converse Residents

In addition to bulk item disposal, the City of Converse is also offering free paper shredding services on:

  • April 18
  • September 19

These events provide an added layer of convenience and security, allowing residents to safely dispose of sensitive documents while participating in the larger cleanup effort.

Why This Matters for Converse Neighborhoods

Programs like the Converse Community Cleanup events play a bigger role than many might realize. Beyond simply clearing out unwanted items, they help:

  • Prevent illegal dumping across neighborhoods
  • Support property values by maintaining cleaner surroundings
  • Reduce environmental strain through proper waste handling
  • Strengthen community pride and shared responsibility

For many residents, it’s also an opportunity to reset their living space and contribute to a more welcoming environment for neighbors.

What Residents Need to Participate

The cleanup events are free to City of Converse residents, but participants must bring:

  • Proof of an active City of Converse utility account
  • A valid state-issued ID matching the address on the utility bill

This ensures the program continues to serve local households directly.

What Happens Next

With eight scheduled events spanning from March through October, residents have multiple chances to participate throughout the year. Whether tackling a spring cleanout, preparing for a move, or simply clearing space, the program offers flexibility and accessibility.

As Converse continues to grow, initiatives like these reflect a broader commitment to maintaining the city’s quality of life—one driveway, one home, and one cleanup at a time.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, gather their bulk items, and take advantage of these opportunities to make a lasting difference in their neighborhood.
