Colonies Neighborhood Center Pickleball and Tennis Key Registration Now Open

January 29 2026

If you’ve been waiting to hit the courts at the Colonies Neighborhood Center, now’s the time to register for a tennis court key and enjoy one of the community’s most active outdoor amenities—now serving both tennis and the ever-popular sport of pickleball.

In an effort to ensure fair and managed use of the neighborhood courts, Harris County MUD No. 102 is organizing key registrations for residents wishing to access the community tennis and pickleball facilities.

How to Register for a Court Key

To gain access, residents must complete a Tennis Court Key Registration form, which is available on the Harris County MUD 102 website. You’ll also find a copy of the current court rules there to review ahead of time.

Bring the completed form to the tennis courts at the Colonies Neighborhood Center (located at 15003 Yorktown Colony Dr, Houston, TX 77084), along with a $20 key fee to one of the following in-person registration and pick-up dates:

  • Thursday, January 29 – 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM
  • Thursday, February 12 – 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM
  • Thursday, February 26 – 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Keys will be issued on the spot once both the form and fee are submitted.

Pickleball Popularity on the Rise

While tennis continues to be a staple of many communities, it’s pickleball that has taken neighborhoods by storm. Often described as a mix between tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, pickleball is played with paddles and a plastic ball on a smaller court. Its low-impact gameplay makes it fun and accessible for all ages, from kids to retirees.

Over the last few years, pickleball has become the fastest-growing sport in the U.S., with more communities integrating it into existing tennis court spaces. The Colonies is no exception, with residents enjoying friendly matches and family games that require little equipment and offer a great way to stay active close to home.

Staying Connected and Safe

President of the Georgetown Colony HOA, Brian Rogers, emphasized the importance of maintaining secure and welcoming amenities for all:

“Thank you for helping us maintain and secure our community amenities.”

For those new to the neighborhood or considering trying a new hobby, this is a perfect opportunity to engage with neighbors, enjoy the outdoors, and maybe even discover your new favorite sport.
