City of Katy Fussell Senior Center to Host Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Presentation

September 22 2023

The City of Katy Fussell Senior Center is proud to host a community educational event presented by the Alzheimer's Association of Katy/West Houston.

An estimated 6.7 million Americans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s dementia in 2023.  1 in 3 seniors die with Alzheimer's or another dementia, more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined!  Early detection can provide a range of benefits and treatment options, however.

On Tuesday, October 24, the Alzheimer's Association of Katy/West Houston will present "10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's Disease" at the City of Katy Fussell Senior Center, where attendees will learn the 10 warning signs for Alzheimer's Disease and dementia so you can find help immediately.  Many local senior service professionals will be in attendance to offer immediate guidance. This event is open to the public, and there is no RSVP, membership, or fee requirement.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. The Katy/West Houston walk is coming up on Saturday, September 30, and the City of Katy Miles for Memory team would greatly appreciate your support by joining their team to walk or by raising funds to further the fight against this disease. If you would like to join the Miles for Memory team or make a donation, please follow the link below.
