City of Brookshire’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Features Parade Led by Local Rodeo Star Trayson Graves
The City of Brookshire is inviting the community to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 10 AM to 6 PM at the Downtown Amphitheater located at 4022 5th St, Brookshire, TX 77423. The annual celebration will feature live music, entertainment, and a series of family-friendly activities.
The event will begin with a Unity Walk at 10 AM, setting the tone for the day’s celebrations. Guests can enjoy live performances from the Royal Marching Sound Machine, Keyun & the Zydeco Masters, and DJ John Nolan. In addition, the event will feature retail and food vendors, kids' activities, a mechanical bull, and train rides, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
One of the main highlights of the event is the parade, which will be led by Trayson Graves, a local from Pattison, Texas. Graves, an Honor Roll student and athlete at Katy High School, has made waves in the competitive rodeo scene. A 5th-generation cowboy, Graves has qualified for both the Youth Invitational Tiedown Roping Event at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as well as the Hooey Jr Patriot Rodeo. Having competed nationwide—from Washington D.C. to Las Vegas—Graves is a proud member of the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo.
