This past spring, from March 22 to 24, the Cinco Ranch High School FBLA Chapter participated in the 2023 State Leadership Conference held in Galveston, Texas. To qualify for this event, members first competed at the District Leadership Conference in January. These students worked very hard throughout the year studying for their competition and/or working on their project. Cinco Ranch had 25 students place from 1st to 5th in one or more events. The 22 students who placed in the top four in their competition are now eligible to compete in the FBLA National Leadership Conference this summer in Atlanta.
In addition to the competitive events, the conference held many informative workshops and state officer campaigns that sparked many of our members’ interests. “While in our free time, we attended many of the workshops,” Cinco Ranch FBLA member Natalie Do said. “And I loved how many different topics each workshop covered.”
The Cinco Ranch High School chapter also received multiple awards and recognition at the conference. We received the Vernon Payne Award for being the most active and outstanding chapter in Texas. Our FBLA chapter placed first in the Local Chapter Business Report, completed by Grace Zhang and Rahul Rajulu, which is a 24-page report documenting the accomplishments of the Cinco Ranch FBLA. “When our school name was called, I felt more than proud of our chapter,” Grace Zhang said. Furthermore, two sophomores, Ella Ng and Susmita Pasala, placed first in Introduction to Event Planning. When asked how they felt afterward, Ella said, “We were nervous, but when we heard we got 1st, it was fascinating as we had hoped for this moment.” |
