CFISD Summer Music Camp Registration Now Open
This year, Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD) is hitting all the right notes with its versatile range of summer music camps. Each camp provides a unique opportunity for students to delve deeper into a world of music, from Mariachi to Jazz, and from Choral singing to mastering the double reed. Whether your child is a seasoned orchestra member or fresh to the music scene, these camps offer the chance to learn and grow musically in the warm, welcoming environment of summer.
High School Mariachi Camp
Held at Cypress Ridge High School, located at 7900 N Eldridge Pkwy, Houston, TX 77041, from June 4-7, 2024, this camp offers a unique opportunity for 8th to 11th grade students to immerse themselves in Mariachi Music. High School Jazz Camp
This free 4-day camp, also at Cypress Ridge High School, located at 7900 N Eldridge Pkwy, Houston, TX 77041, from June 4-7, 2024, is perfect for students interested in Jazz music. High School String Orchestra Camp
For students interested in exploring their abilities in a string orchestra, this camp takes place from June 4-7, 2024 at the Cypress Falls High School, located at 9811 Huffmeister Rd, Houston, TX 77095. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is free of charge, with Elizabeth Ledford as the contact person. Register by May 6, 2024 here.
Middle School/High School Double Reed Camp
Taking place at Smith Middle School, located at 10300 Warner Smith Boulevard, Cypress, TX 77433, from June 10-13, 2024, this camp caters to Oboists and Bassoonists entering 7-12th grade in the upcoming school year. High School Choral Institute
Current 8th-11th grade students interested in learning about the All-State process, music preparation, and audition success can apply to this institute, running from June 11-13, 2024 at the Cypress Falls High School, located at 9811 Huffmeister Rd, Houston, TX 77095 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Contact Jason Womack for more details. As a testament to CFISD's commitment to music education, the district has recently been honored with the 2024 Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) national designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for the seventh consecutive year.
