CFISD Student of the Week: Jack Hogan
McGown Elementary School second grade student Jack Hogan is known for his hard work, willingness to learn new skills and being a friend to all.

Grade: 2
Accomplishments: Hogan recently participated in his first triathlon. He’s a multisport athlete, playing football, baseball and basketball. He is also currently learning how to play the electric guitar.
Favorite class: “I love math because I am good with numbers. I like reading because there is nothing I can’t read and I like science because it’s cool. I don’t have a geography class, but I love maps.”
Favorite things to do after class: “I love to swim and have been since I was 6 months old through infant survival. I also like watching movies with my little brother and playing our Switch together.”
Favorite song: “Demons by Imagine Dragons.”
Favorite website/app: “I love Sora because my mom and I can check out books to read before bed or books to listen to in the car.”
Favorite TV show: “I live on Netflix. It has a lot of good shows that are funny.”
Favorite movie: “Anything Harry Potter. My whole family loves watching the movies, going to Harry Potter World in Florida and my mom and I are currently reading the illustrated versions of the books.”
Ambition: “I want to learn to play as many instruments as possible. I really wanted to learn to play the tuba, but they’re ready expensive, so I started with piano, then electric guitar. Next, I want to learn drums!”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I love people. I feel like I can be friends with anyone. I’m passionate about others and I’m always worried about others.”
What inspires you?: “I get inspiration from everywhere. I have a huge imagination and I love building with Legos and other maker space type items to make my ideas come to life.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “My octopus, Hankie, my blanket and my silk pillow.”
What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “I am excited to learn a lot at my new school. I love my teachers and I get to be at school with my mom!”
