CFISD Police and Local Partners Deliver Thanksgiving Meals to 20 Families in Need
This Thanksgiving season, the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Police Department traded in their badges for boxes of food as they joined forces with local businesses, schools, and volunteers to bring full holiday meals to 20 local families in need.
Through a heartfelt community outreach initiative, CFISD Police officers—alongside partners like Mex Taco House, Taste N Tell, H-E-B, Cypress Woods Athletic Boosters, Spillane Middle School, A. Robinson Elementary, and Houston Behavioral Health—worked together to ensure families across the district didn’t go without a holiday meal.
The effort culminated in a gathering on November 25 at the CFISD Exhibit Center, where officers and CFISD Board members came together to sort and distribute donations. From there, boxes filled with traditional Thanksgiving staples—complete with turkeys and hams—were hand-delivered to families across the community.

“This is part of our community outreach program where we donate entire Thanksgiving meals to less fortunate families in our district,” one officer shared. “It’s a good opportunity to be able to give back to the community, bring the department together, and assist families going through a tough time.”
The initiative emphasized more than just food—it was about connection, kindness, and service. One officer described the moment of delivering the meals: “I enjoy delivering it to the families and for them to see us bring the boxes, a ham, and a turkey. It just feels good to help everyone else in the community that needs it.”
The program also reflected a broader sense of purpose within the department. “I love the fact that our department has given us this opportunity to take time away from our duties to do a little protecting and serving in a different way—through community policing and being there for our residents.”

You all took the time out of your day to come and support me and my family. We appreciate that.”
The effort was made possible through the generosity of many. “We had donations from H-E-B, Cy-Woods Athletic Boosters, Spillane Middle School, A. Robinson Elementary, and we couldn’t have done it without all our sponsors,” one volunteer noted. “A special thanks to Mex Taco House—they donated 10 turkeys. Thank you to everyone who helped.”
As the holidays approach, this local initiative serves as a shining example of the community spirit that defines Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and the greater Cy-Fair area.
