CFISD Names 2022-2023 Principals of the YearÂ
Susan Brenz and Maggie Wiley were selected as the Elementary and Secondary district representatives for the 2022-2023 Region 4 Principal of the Year award, respectively.
Brenz is in her eighth year as principal of Woodard Elementary and has 26 total years of experience in education, all of them in CFISD. She began her career as a classroom teacher at Holmsley Elementary, moving into administration in 2003.
Woodard Elementary Principal Susan Brenz was selected as the 2022-2023 Elementary Principal of the Year.
“As a Cy-Fair High School graduate and former Millsap Elementary Mustang and Arnold Middle School Buccaneer, I am a product of having great teachers and leaders all my years in our wonderful district,” Brenz said. “I have had the privilege of being part of opening Millsap Elementary as a student, Aragon Middle School as a teacher and ELAR department chair, Keith Elementary as an assistant principal and Woodard Elementary as a principal. Many of those that I consider mentors have contributed to my success over the years, several of which have campuses named after them. At Woodard, I get to work with amazing students, staff and parents who make me look great every day. We are ‘All in’ to ensure our students get the very best at all times! I am humbled that I get to share this honor with all of them.”
Wiley is currently in her 27th year in education and was named principal of Jersey Village High School in 2019. She began her career as a classroom teacher in Clear Creek ISD, joining CFISD in 1999 and moving into administration in 2003.
Jersey Village High School Principal Maggie Wiley was selected as the 2022-2023 Secondary Principal of the Year.
“I am truly honored to be named Secondary Principal of the Year,” Wiley said. “This recognition is a reflection of my Village. The students, staff and community of Jersey Village High School represent a legacy—50 years strong—and I have the privilege of telling their amazing story each and every day. Thank you to my colleagues for seeing the greatness at the Village and honoring me with this recognition. I am truly blessed by their leadership and influence. Thank you to CFISD for your leadership, the opportunity and the support you have provided me for the last 24 years. I can’t imagine being anywhere else.”
Brenz and Wiley will be recognized by the Region 4 Service Center at an April 5 luncheon.
