CFISD Marching Bands Earn Early Season Accolades

Multiple CFISD high school marching bands have competed in different contests across the greater Houston area in recent weeks and have earned impressive finishes. 

At the Bands of America (BOA) North Houston Regional, held Sept. 24 at Conroe ISD’s Woodforest Bank Stadium, Cy-Fair High School finished second overall while Bridgeland High School finished third overall. The North Houston Regional featured approximately 23 high school marching bands from across the greater Houston area.
 
The Cy-Fair High School marching band finished second overall at the Bands of America North Houston Regional,
held Sept. 24 at Conroe ISD’s Woodforest Bank Stadium. Cy-Fair also finished fourth overall at the Bands of
America West Houston Regional, held Oct. 1 at Katy ISD’s Legacy Stadium.
 
At the BOA West Houston Regional, held Oct. 1 at Katy ISD’s Legacy Stadium, Cy-Fair had another top five finish, placing fourth overall. Cypress Woods High School placed 11th in finals. The West Houston Regional featured approximately 31 high school marching bands from across the greater Houston area.

At the Lone Star Preview Marching Contest, held Oct. 8 at Conroe ISD’s Woodforest Bank Stadium, Bridgeland finished first overall, followed by Cypress Woods finishing second overall. Bridgeland also earned best visual and general effect awards for its finals performance. Cypress Woods earned the best music award for its finals performance.

At the Battle at the Berry Marching Contest, held Oct. 15 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium, Bridgeland placed first in Class V, while also earning outstanding music performance, outstanding visual performance, outstanding auxiliary/color guard performance and outstanding percussion performance. Bridgeland was also named the overall Grand Champion of the contest.

Also at the Battle at the Berry Marching Contest, the Langham Creek High School marching band won first place in Class IV and the Cypress Springs High School marching band placed second in Class III.

All 12 CFISD high school marching bands will compete at the UIL Region 27 Class 6A Marching Contest on Oct. 22 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium. Visit the CFISD Fine Arts webpage for tickets and the performance schedule.
