Celebrate Back to School, Get Free Supplies with Cypress Assistance Ministries
Cypress Assistance Ministries (CAM) and the many volunteers that help make their initiatives possible are hard at work preparing for back to school. For students, starting the school year equipped with needed school supplies has a profound impact on their success.
That's why this local nonprofit is once again hosting their Back to School Jam at CAM, a family day of fun on August 19 that aims to send all CFISD students back to school with confidence. During the event, CAM will be giving away backpacks and school supplies for the 2023 school year, along with a live DJ, raffle drawings, snacks fun games and important resources for parents.
To make supplies accessible for all families, CAM will distribute school supplies and backpacks for families in need from July 24 through September 1. Distribution will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. To qualify, families will need to bring a photo ID, current utility bill or correspondence mailed to you for proof of address, and the ability to verify children in the household through SNAP benefits, lease agreement, report card or school enrollment.
Throughout the year, CAM supports serves individuals and families in financial crisis, those on the brink of homelessness, the elderly, the unemployed and anyone that needs hope for a better future. In faith and partnership with the community, CAM turns stumbling blocks into stepping stones by making resources available to individuals and families facing adversity, providing a helping hand as they regain self-sufficiency.
