Candlelight Tours Return to Fort Bend Museum

November 01 2023

The Fort Bend Museum Docents and the Fort Bend Museum present “It’s the most Wonderful Time of the Year” Candlelight Tours.

The historic Moore Home will be decorated for the Holidays as well as the Long-Smith Cottage. There will be a booth of handmade Christmas items for sale, along with free cookies and wassail for visitors.

Built in 1883, the historic Moore mansion was home to Congressman John. M. and Lottie Dyer Moore. Four generations of the Moore family lived in the home, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. One of the oldest buildings in Richmond, Long-Smith Cottage was originally built around 1855 on land owned by Jane Long, the "Mother of Texas."

“Candlelight Tours is a Holiday tradition that the Fort Bend Museum Docents graciously host every year for the Fort Bend Community, and we can’t wait to see the Moore Home transformation this year”, says Executive Director, Madeleine Calcote-Garcia.

Tours will take place Friday December 1 and 8, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturdays, December 2 and 9, 5:00 PM to 8:00 P. Tickets are $5 each. Tickets can be purchased by clicking the link below or at the door during the event.
