Bridgeland High School Students to Host Winter Pet Adoption Carnival

January 19 2024

In partnership with Big Love Rescue and Cuddle Buddies Rescue, the Bridgeland High School’s Students Protecting America's Animals (SPAA) club is hosting a family-focused winter pet adoption event on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Cypress Fairhaven Animal Hospital, complete with games, food, and of course, adorable dogs and cats looking for their forever home.

The SPAA club at Bridgeland High School fundraises for issues related to animals like animal neglect and cruelty, with members devoting 20+ hours of their time each semester to the cause. All proceeds from the adoption event on January 20 will go to the partnering nonprofits, who both have deep roots in the community and big hearts for homeless pets.

Led by Cypress area residents Gina Evans, Christina Sims, and Dana Oatis, Big Love Rescue rescues lost, abandoned, and neglected dogs, providing them with medical care and necessary behavioral training. Instead of keeping the rescued dogs in a facility, they are placed in nurturing foster homes until they find their forever family. Each dog available for adoption comes with a microchip, vaccinations, and any required medical treatment to ensure their health and success in their new home.

Based in Katy and established in 2019, Cuddle Buddies Rescue is led by Yvonne Cruz, whose focus is centered on rescuing, rehabilitating, spaying and neutering, and find forever homes for pets in their care. Through the support of volunteers and donations from compassionate advocates, Cuddle Buddies Rescue also operates on a fostering system to help ensure comfort and quality of care.

This winter carnival will begin at 6:00 and conclude at 8:00 PM. Bring the whole family to enjoy a fun evening and give a pet the gift of a forever home while supporting Bridgeland High School students and these compassionate local rescue groups.
