Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, Langham Creek Win Softball District Titles; Six Teams Enter Playoffs

The District 16-6A and District 17-6A softball seasons ended on April 21 with six CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL Class 6A playoffs.
Bridgeland High School and Langham Creek High School were named co-District 16-6A champions, with both the Bears and Lobos posting 13-1 records in district play. Langham Creek will enter the playoffs as the district’s first seed. Cypress Woods High School placed third with a 10-4 district record and Cypress Ranch High School placed fourth with an 8-6 district record.

The following District 16-6A teams will enter the UIL Region II-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

Langham Creek vs. Klein Oak
- Game 1 – 6:30 p.m. on April 27 at Langham Creek High School (17610 FM 529);
- Game 2 – 6:30 p.m. on April 28 at Klein Oak High School (22603 Northcrest Drive); and
- Game 3, if necessary – noon on April 29 at Cypress Ridge High School (7900 N. Eldridge Parkway).
- Bridgeland will face Klein at 6 p.m. on April 27 at Cypress Ranch High School (10700 Fry Road)
- Cypress Woods will play Waller at 6 p.m. on April 27 at Cypress Woods High School (13550 Woods-Spillane Blvd.); and
- Cypress Ranch vs. Klein Collins
- Game 1 – 6 p.m. on April 27 at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road)
- Game 2 – 1 p.m. on April 29 at Cypress Creek High School; an
- Game 3, if necessary – 3:30 p.m. on April 29 at Cypress Creek High School.

Cy-Fair High School won the District 17-6A championship, finishing the season with a perfect 14-0 record in league play. Jersey Village High School went 11-3 in district play to finish second.

Both will enter the UIL Region III-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

Cy-Fair will meet Houston Chavez at 7:30 p.m. on April 27 at Cypress Ridge High School; and
- Jersey Village vs. Houston Lamar
- Game 1 – 6 p.m. on April 27 at Jersey Village High School (7600 Solomon St.);
- Game 2 – 6 p.m. on April 28 at Jersey Village High School; and
- Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2 on April 28 at Jersey Village High School.

Tickets for Langham Creek, Bridgeland, Cypress Woods, Cypress Ranch,Cy-Fair and Jersey Village are $5 a piece (adults and students) and will be sold online.
