Bridgeland, Cy Creek, Cy Ranch Repeat as District Water Polo Champions; 16 Teams Enter Playoffs

The District 20-6A and District 16-6A water polo seasons ended on Oct. 2 with 16 CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL playoffs.

Bridgeland High School and Cypress Ranch High School share the 20-6A girls’ championship title with a 9-1 record in district play. Langham Creek High School went 6-4 in league play to earn the third seed and Cypress Lakes High School went 4-6 in district play to finish fourth.

The following 20-6A girls’ teams will enter the UIL State  playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

  • Bridgeland will meet Spring Branch ISD’s Memorial High School on Monday, Oct. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Spring branch ISD Natatorium (10404 Tiger Trail).
  • Cypress Ranch will face Lamar CISD’s George Ranch High School on Monday, Oct. 7 at 5:45 p.m. at the CFISD Natatorium (12550 Windfern Road).
  • Langham Creek will meet Stratford High School on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. at the CFISD Natatorium
  • Cypress Lakes will face Foster High School on Monday, Oct. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lamar CISD Natatorium if Langham Creek boys win.
  • Cypress Lakes will meet Foster on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. at the Lamar

High School Natatorium (3325 Westheimer Rd) if Cypress Lakes boys win.

The Cypress Ranch High School girls’ water polo team won the District 20-6A Championship. The Mustangs posted
a 9-1 record in league play to earn the top seed going into the playoffs. They will face Lamar George Ranch

Cypress Ranch won the boys’ 20-6A championship after posting a 10-0 record in district play. Bridgeland claimed the second seed finishing 8-2 in district play and Cypress Springs High School earned the third seed with a 6-4 record in district play. Cypress Lakes and Langham Creek both claimed the fourth seen with identical 3-7 marks in league play.

The following 20-6A boys’ teams will enter the UIL State playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

  • Cypress Ranch will face George Ranch on Monday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at the CFISD Natatorium.
  • Bridgeland will meet Memorial on Monday, Oct. 7 at 6:45 p.m. at the Spring Branch ISD Natatorium.
  • Cypress Springs will face Stratford on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 4:30 p.m. at the CFISD Natatorium.
  • Langham Creek will meet Foster on Monday, Oct. 7 at 6:45 p.m. at the Lamar CISD Natatorium.
  • Cypress Lakes will face Foster on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6:15 p.m. at the Lamar High School Natatorium.

Cypress Creek High School won the girls’ District 16-6A championship with a 10-0 record in league play. Cy-Fair High School finished with 7-3 marks in district play and Cypress Woods High School claimed the third seed with a 6-4 record in district play. Cypress Falls High School finished the season with a 4-6 record in district play.

The following 16-6A girls’ teams will enter the UIL State playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

  • Cypress Creek will meet Houston ISD’s Northside High School on Monday, Oct. 7 at 5:45 p.m. at the CFISD Natatorium.
  • Cy-Fair will face Houston ISD’s Chavez High School on Monday, Oct. 7 at 5:45 at the CFISD Natatorium.
  • Cypress Woods will meet Houston ISD’s Milby High School on Monday, Oct. 7 at 6:45 p.m. at the Lamar High School Natatorium.
  • Cypress Falls will meet Houston ISD’s Waltrip High School on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. at Lamar High School Natatorium.

Cypress Creek won the boys’ District 16-6A championship with a 10-0 record in league play. Jersey Village High School claimed the second seed with a record of 8-2 in district play. Cypress Woods went 6-4 in district play to finish third while Cy-Fair and Cypress Falls finished with identical 3-7 marks in district play, earning the fourth seed.

  • Cypress Creek will face Northside on Monday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.  at the CFISD Natatorium.

  • Cypress Woods will face Milby on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 4:30 p.m. at the CFISD Natatorium.
