Big Art, Bold Flavors: Katy High School’s 3rd Annual Art Day and Crawfish Boil Promises Fun for All
Katy High School’s National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is gearing up for their 3rd Annual Big Art Day and Crawfish Boil, a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and community. The event will take place on Saturday, March 22nd, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Katy High School Bus Lot, and promises to be a day of fun for all ages.
The Big Art Day and Crawfish Boil is a unique fundraiser that blends art, food, live music, and exciting activities, all while supporting the talented student artists of Katy High School. The event will feature a variety of attractions, including crawfish, live music, snowcones, face painting, bounce house, art displays, and much more.
In addition to these activities, the Empty Bowls for Sale initiative will allow guests to purchase one-of-a-kind, handcrafted bowls made by the NAHS members. These bowls are a creative way to raise awareness and funds for community causes.
"We're excited for our third year hosting this event, which brings together the Katy community in support of our students and the arts," said Emily Trevino, NAHS Sponsor. "It’s a great opportunity to see the incredible talent of our students, enjoy some delicious food, and make memories with family and friends."
NAHS members have also designed limited-edition Mardi Gras shirts for sale at $20. Those interested in purchasing the shirts can contact Emily Trevino via email at EmilyTrevino@KatyISD.org for the Pay N’ Go link.

This year’s Big Art Day and Crawfish Boil offers something for everyone, from creative activities and entertainment to delicious food and local vendors. In addition to the fun and festivities, the event raises funds that directly benefit Katy High School's art programs and its students. All proceeds from the event will go toward furthering the arts education and experiences of Katy High School students.
The National Art Honor Society, established by the National Art Education Association in 1978, recognizes high school students who demonstrate outstanding talent and passion for the arts. To be eligible for membership in the NAHS, students must meet several criteria, including a high academic standing in their art classes, teacher recommendations, and a commitment to service and leadership. Membership is an honor that offers students the chance to showcase their skills, support community causes, and contribute to the growing art culture in Katy.
This year’s Big Art Day and Crawfish Boil promises to be another exciting and successful event, with all proceeds benefiting Katy High School. The event is an excellent opportunity for families to enjoy a day of entertainment while supporting the next generation of artists.
