Crime Watch

The article below came from Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher:

Dear Neighbor,

Here in Houston, we value and rely on our post offices to deliver our mail, medicine, paychecks, social security checks, ballots, and so much more.  Which is why, when many of you contacted me with concerns about our local post offices, I called for investigations and was pleased to see improvements implemented.  As my office continues to work with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to ensure the safe and timely delivery of mail, I thank you all for your patience and input.  In the meantime, here are some official USPS resources you may find helpful:

  • Protect Yourself: If you are experiencing mail theft, learn how the U.S. Postal Inspection Service recommends you protect yourself and others here.
  • Contact USPS: If you’re having issues or have questions about your mail, you can contact USPS for a variety of solutions and tips here.
  • Report a Crime: If you’ve witnessed or are victim to a mail-related crime, you can report it to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service here.
  • Use Informed Delivery: Sign up for USPS Informed Delivery to preview incoming mail and track/reschedule packages.
  • Hold Mail: If you’re planning to be out of town, you can use the USPS Hold Mail function to safeguard your mail at your local Post Office until you return.
    • If you plan to be gone longer than two weeks, you can also set up USPS Mail Forwarding to have your mail forwarded to a temporary address.
  • Find Missing Mail: If you suspect that your mail is lost or delayed, you can start a search for your missing mail and receive periodic updates here.
  • File a Claim: If your lost or stolen mail was insured, you can file a claim with USPS here.

Landscape Committee

Meetings: Normally, the committee meets the 2nd Monday of every month @ 6:30PM

Location: Forest Heights Pool Meeting Room

If you would like to become part of the group, we welcome and encourage your attendance. Contrary to popular opinions we do not physically perform the manual labor!  We are instead a friendly group of decision makers! Comments, suggestions, or questions regarding common areas or other landscape topics are always welcome. Please contact The Landscape Committee at LandscapeWestcreek@gmail.com.  A member will get back with you to answer your questions or concerns.

Please be a good neighbor: If you notice that the sprinklers on your cul-de-sac are not working, please inform either Graham Mgt. or someone on the landscape committee. As our trees age, the grass is struggling on the cul de sacs.

We would also like to remind all homeowners with perimeter fencing, that is fencing bordering Royal Gardens, Hudson Oaks, Forest Heights and Queenston, to please position your sprinkler heads so that water does not hit the fence.

Yard of the Month occurs from May through September. Judging is held the last week of each month, beginning the last week of April. Winners will be announced in the next month’s newsletter. These awards were established to recognize the efforts of homeowners to improve and maintain their property. There are three place winners per month, and a property may only win the award once per year. Committee volunteer judges are looking for an overall appearance of the front of the house as viewed from the street. These judges are looking for well-maintained yards with trimmed grass, shrubs, bushes and edged sidewalks. Flowers and different colors of foliage may or may not be included, but most winners have planted some type of color to enhance the appearance of the yard. The home must not have any deed violations pending. Good Luck to all, and thank you for helping to make Westcreek lovely. Thank you also to our volunteer judges.

Wildflowers: While walking on the greenbelt, if you noticed that the circle at the very end is not being maintained. You are correct. We would like the wildflower plants from previous years to reseed.

Community Garden

The Community Garden is located behind the Hudson Oaks tennis courts.  Meetings are held the second Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. at the garden. Pay us a visit!!

Architectural Changes

Please remember that approval from the Architectural Review Committee must be obtained prior to any changes or improvements made to the exterior of your property, including but not limited to repainting, roofing, door/window replacement, siding replacement, and major landscaping.  ARC application forms can be obtained on the copperfield.org or the graham.cincwebaxis.com websites.

Please be advised that the Board has updated the Architectural Review Guidelines.  Please review them on the website as well.  Specifically, there have been changes to the tree and fence guidelines.
