7 Brew Plans First Austin Drive-Thru Coffee Stand on East William Cannon Drive
South Austin’s increasingly crowded coffee scene could soon have a new arrival — and this one is being built almost entirely around the idea of never leaving the car.
7 Brew is planning a new drive-thru coffee stand at 700 E. William Cannon Drive in Austin, according to construction information filed for the Travis County project. The company plans a new 478-square-foot building designed specifically for drive-thru coffee service, with an estimated construction cost of $400,000.
Construction is scheduled to begin Oct. 5, 2026, with completion currently projected for Dec. 8, 2026. Those dates represent the construction timeline, however, and an official opening date has not yet been announced.
For residents in South Austin, particularly those regularly traveling William Cannon Drive, the project would add another quick-service coffee option in an area filled with morning commuters, families, students and shoppers.
It also marks a notable step for a brand that has already been quietly building a presence around the Austin metro.
7 Brew Moves From the Austin Suburbs Into Austin Proper
7 Brew already operates stands in Round Rock, Manor and Leander, according to the company’s current location directory. Its Texas footprint has grown substantially, with the company listing 125 stands statewide as of early September 2026.
What is different about the William Cannon project is the address.
As of Sept. 5, 2026, 7 Brew’s official Texas location directory does not list an operating stand in the City of Austin itself. That means the planned South Austin location appears positioned to become 7 Brew’s first location within Austin city limits, provided the project moves forward as planned.
The brand’s Austin-area expansion began outside the city proper. A Round Rock stand opened in 2024, while Manor became the company’s second Austin-area location in 2025. The chain has since added Leander to its Central Texas footprint.
For South Austin coffee drinkers searching for 7 Brew near Austin, drive-thru coffee on William Cannon Drive or new coffee shops in South Austin, the William Cannon stand would bring the concept considerably closer.
A Tiny Building Built for a High-Volume Drive-Thru
At just 478 square feet, the planned Austin 7 Brew is significantly smaller than a traditional sit-down coffee shop.
That is intentional.
7 Brew’s business model centers on compact beverage stands and drive-thru service rather than cafés filled with tables and laptops. The company says its typical operation emphasizes speed, personal interaction and handcrafted drinks, often using double drive-thru lanes to move customers through quickly.
The small footprint is part of what has allowed the company to expand rapidly across the country.
For customers, the experience is less about settling in for an afternoon and more about grabbing a customized drink on the way to work, school, errands or wherever the day happens to be headed.
What Is 7 Brew?
The company’s story began in Northwest Arkansas in 2017, when the first stand opened around a menu of seven original coffees.
By 2020, the young chain had grown to seven stands and was acquired by an entrepreneurial group operating as Brew Culture LLC. The company says its new leadership redesigned operations, modernized the menu and built the employee culture it calls the “Brew Crew.”
Growth accelerated dramatically from there.
7 Brew says it went from just 38 stands in January 2023 to more than 800 stands across 38 states today, supported by more than 45,000 employees. The company says its stands now collectively serve more than 1 million drinks per day.
Texas has become an especially important part of that expansion. The company’s current locator lists 125 Texas stands, more than in any other state shown in its directory.
That rapid growth is helping turn a once-regional Arkansas coffee concept into an increasingly familiar name along Texas roadways.
The 7 Brew Menu Goes Far Beyond Coffee
Despite “Brew” being in the name, coffee is only part of what the chain sells.
The 7 Brew menu includes its 7 Originals and 7 Classics, along with espresso-based drinks, 7 Energy beverages, flavored 7 Fizz sodas, teas, chai, matcha, lemonades, smoothies and shakes.
Customization is a major part of the concept.
Customers can adjust sweetness, add espresso shots, choose flavors and sugar-free options, select alternative milks including oat, coconut and almond, and add toppings, cold foam or drizzles. The company says those choices result in more than 20,000 possible drink combinations.
Among the drinks highlighted at existing Central Texas stands are the Blondie with caramel drizzle, Ocean Breeze 7 Energy, Georgia Peach Green Tea and strawberry smoothies.
It is a menu designed as much for someone who does not drink coffee as it is for the person who considers an iced espresso a morning necessity.
Why 7 Brew’s South Austin Location Matters
Austin is hardly short on coffee.
Locally grown shops, national chains, independent roasters and a growing number of drive-thru beverage concepts already compete for the city’s morning traffic. What 7 Brew adds is another version of the increasingly popular small-footprint, drive-thru-only coffee model.
The location at 700 E. William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78745, also places the brand in a heavily traveled section of South Austin rather than in an outlying suburb.
For nearby residents, the practical change is straightforward: another option for coffee, tea, smoothies or energy drinks without driving north to Round Rock, east to Manor or northwest toward Leander.
And for 7 Brew, it would represent something bigger — a move from serving the Austin metro to operating in Austin itself.
What Happens Next
Construction on the new 7 Brew is currently scheduled to run from Oct. 5 through Dec. 8, 2026, according to the project information. The estimated $400,000 development calls for new construction of the 478-square-foot coffee drive-thru.
A grand-opening date, operating hours and opening promotions for the Austin location have not yet been announced.
If 7 Brew follows the pattern seen at other Central Texas openings, residents may eventually see community events and opening-week promotions surrounding the debut. Its Manor opening, for example, included complimentary drink periods and donations to local organizations.
For now, the most concrete sign of what is coming is the construction plan itself: a very small building carrying one of the country’s fastest-expanding drive-thru beverage concepts into South Austin.
