2024 Cypress Music Scene Music Fest Rallies Community Support for Local Charities
Get ready to be a part of an incredible community event that will not only offer an unforgettable experience right here in Cypress, but also a chance to give back to the community - the 2024 Cypress Music Scene (CMS) Music Fest. Cypress native and lead singer/song writer of local band Hurry Sundown, Joyce Skala is passionately teaming up with The Barn at the Frio to organize this music festival with a heart full of love for the community and a desire to support locals in need.
On March 23, 2024, The Barn will be filled with live music by multiple bands across a wide variety of genres, kicking off at 11:00 AM and rocking on until 11:00 PM. Attendees ages 16 and up can expect a delicious selection of food and shopping opportunities throughout the day-long event. Local businesses will set up shop to sell their wares at the event, with a limited number of spaces available. Sponsorship opportunities will also be available.
But the 2024 CMS Music Fest isn’t just about the fun —it's a call to action, an invitation to make a difference through music. All ticket proceeds will benefit two deserving organizations who are both on mission to help some of our most vulnerable populations. By attending the 2024 Cypress Music Scene Music Fest, you're shedding light on our community's vital areas that positively impact residents and small businesses.
"As a Cypress native, I feel it only necessary to use my resources to give back to the folks who generously donate their personal time and resources for the same reason,” said Skala.
Among the beneficiaries of this event is Cy-Fair Helping Hands, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the homeless become self-sufficient. This organization was born out of the heart of one woman and a huge pot of soup, and has grown to include a Community Food Pantry and programs for underprivileged students and struggling families.
The second beneficiary of the 2024 CMS Music Fest is Tunnel to Towers Greater Houston Area. This organization honors the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a courageous firefighter who selflessly laid down his life on 9/11 in New York City, by continuing his legacy of doing good. They specialize in providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children, and building specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.
“Day in, day out, and in many different ways, these two local non-profit organizations help many in the area that are in need and support from us is priceless to them. I'm asking for your participation to help make this an unforgettable event that has a HUGE impact,” said Skala.
