Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital Expands Services Ahead of 2025 Grand Opening
Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital (HMCY) is broadening its health care services ahead of its grand opening slated for 2025, bringing vital health care services closer to home for Cypress residents, according to a release by Houston Methodist.
The hospital continues its construction phase while unveiling additional features. "The opening of our cancer, infusion and breast care services, along with the recent opening of our physical therapy and rehabilitation programs, are milestones for Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital as we work toward becoming a health care hub for this community,” revealed HMCY’s CEO, Trent Fulin.
This marks the second phase of early services at HMCY, which is now the ninth hospital in the Methodist system. The first phase in March included emergency care, orthopedic and sports medicine services, along with physical and occupational therapy and primary care.
Following the hospital's official launch in the first quarter of 2025, it will open with 100 licensed beds, with plans to expand to 400 beds in the future.
Lindsey Pimentel, Director of Oncology Services at Houston Methodist Cypress highlighted, “We’re proud to bring cancer care to our community. It’s important for us to ensure every patient that walks through our doors feels the high-quality, comprehensive care provided at Houston Methodist close to home.”
In 2025, HMCY’s services will expand further to include acute care surgery, gastroenterology, cardiology, and neurology. The incorporation of tech innovations from the system’s research hubs across Houston aims to ensure the highest standard of care and create significant job growth. Initiated with a staff of 770 employees, Cypress plans to eventually grow its employee strength to 2,900.
The continual development of HMCY looks to improve health care access and quality in the Cypress community, with the anticipation of the official grand opening in 2025.
