Energy Capital Credit Union Expands with New Branch in Katy
In an ongoing quest to make a positive impact on the lives of its members, the Energy Capital Credit Union (ECCU) has recently opened a new branch at 3211 Peek Road in Katy. Grand opening day, January 9, marked a critical milestone in ECCU's expansion strategy.
Kanika Boutte, CEO of ECCU, explained the motivation behind the move, saying, "ECCU wanted to open a location in a part of the Houston metro area where we could be of service to the citizens of that community. After countless hours of research, we felt Katy would be the best fit for our organization."
The new branch joins three other locations: one in Northwest Houston and two locations in North Houston/Spring. With many customers already living in Katy, the expansion into the Katy area was a natural progression to bring their philosophy of service to even more Katy residents and businesses.
"Our company culture is built on service. We are committed to providing the best possible service we can every single day." Boutte continued.
Established in 1934 by a group of Humble Oil employees driven to combat exorbitant loan rates, ECCU was built from the ground up on a philosophy of fairness and service. Boutte remarked, "Our driving force is our whole-hearted belief that we can make a positive impact on the lives of our members. 'People Helping People' is the philosophy behind the credit union movement and those three words have been a catalyst for me to be a part of this unique industry."
ECCU is not just a financial institution; it's a family. Originally from New Orleans, Boutte moved to Houston in 2001 and has been with ECCU for over two decades, seeing the organization as an integral part of her life and the lives of its members. Boutte and her team are excited to be a part of a community where residents are starting new journeys in their lives, such as renting their first apartment, buying their first or forever home, and those who are expanding their families.
In a move to further integrate with the community and connect with other area businesses and organizations, ECCU recently joined the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, celebrating a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate their grand opening just last month.
Matthew Ferraro, President and CEO of the Katy Area Chamber, expresses his support stating, "The addition of ECCU to our community is a testament to the growth and potential of Katy. We are excited to have them as part of our Chamber, and look forward to how they will contribute to our community."
ECCU's new branch in Katy offers a range of services from checking and savings accounts to retirement services and loans. The credit union also offers competitive rates in comparison to banks and has a full-service insurance company providing homeowners, auto, renters, and business insurance.
