Wingstop Planned Near Hightop Ridge as New San Antonio Location Takes Shape

San Antonio / New Braunfels  /  San Antonio / New Braunfels
August 19 2026

There may soon be another answer to the familiar “What are we picking up for dinner?” question for residents of Hightop Ridge.

A Wingstop is planned for 314 S. WW White Road in San Antonio, where project filings show a $300,000 renovation of an existing 2,545-square-foot space. Construction is currently listed to begin Oct. 18, 2026, with completion scheduled for Jan. 26, 2027.

The project is described as a tenant improvement, meaning Wingstop would be moving into and renovating an existing building rather than starting from the ground up.

For nearby residents, it is a relatively straightforward addition, but one that could be useful: another quick lunch stop, game-day wing run or easy dinner option along a busy part of San Antonio.

A Texas-Born Brand That Grew Well Beyond Texas

Wingstop is hardly a newcomer to the restaurant scene.

The company got its start in Garland, Texas, in 1994 and began franchising just a few years later. Since then, it has grown into an international chain with more than 3,000 locations worldwide.

Despite that growth, the menu has stayed centered on what made the brand popular in the first place: chicken cooked to order and tossed in a choice of sauces and seasonings.

Customers can order classic or boneless wings, chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches, then choose from flavors that range from mild and savory to considerably hotter options. Popular sides include seasoned fries, Cajun fried corn, Louisiana Voodoo Fries and veggie sticks, along with the ranch that has developed a following of its own.

That mix-and-match approach is a big part of Wingstop’s appeal. One order can look completely different from the next depending on the flavor, heat level and sides someone chooses.

What We Know About the South WW White Road Location

For now, the filing gives residents an early look at the project rather than a confirmed restaurant opening date.

The planned work at 314 S. WW White Road includes renovations and alterations to the existing space, with an estimated construction cost of $300,000. The project covers 2,545 square feet and is expected to run from October through late January.

That timeline does not necessarily mean the restaurant will open immediately after construction wraps up. Final inspections, equipment installation, employee training and other preparations can still happen after the build-out is finished.

No grand-opening date, operating hours or hiring details were included in the information provided.

Another Dining Option for Hightop Ridge

For residents of Hightop Ridge who travel along South WW White Road, the new Wingstop could become one more convenient stop close to home.

It also adds another recognizable restaurant name to the surrounding commercial area, where existing buildings continue to find new uses as businesses move in and invest in renovations.

The location could be especially appealing to families looking for an easy takeout meal, commuters grabbing dinner on the way home or sports fans ordering wings for a weekend game.

What Happens Next

If the current construction schedule stays on track, work should begin this fall and continue into early 2027. More details about the restaurant’s opening, hours and hiring are likely to become clearer as the project moves closer to completion.

For Hightop Ridge, it is one more local opening worth watching — particularly for residents who already have a favorite Wingstop flavor and would not mind having one a little closer.
