Wimbledon Halloween Morning Race Supports Youth Cross-Country Team
Wimbledon Estates will start Halloween morning with the fourth annual Wimbledon Run, Walk, JOLT & BOLT on Saturday, October 31. The race begins and ends at Wimbledon neighborhood park, 16400 Sir William Drive in Spring. Costumes are encouraged, and proceeds benefit the Wimbledon Bolts youth cross-country team.
Choose the Right Race
The one-mile fun run starts at 8 a.m. and is listed for children ages 12 and under. The 5K starts at 8:20 a.m. and welcomes all ages. Runners and walkers can take part; the race is not chip timed, although a clock will be at the finish. The organizer plans awards for the top male and female finishers in each distance.
Registration and Arrival
The official race page lists a $20 one-mile fee plus a $2.20 signup fee, and a $25 5K fee plus a $2.50 signup fee. It lists online registration through 11:59 p.m. CDT on October 30, while its race description still refers to an October 23 registration deadline and says shirts are subject to availability after October 15. Check the live signup form for current availability and shirt details before making plans.
Parking is at Giammalva Racquet Club; the start and finish are at the neighborhood park. Organizer Amy Nuzman says registration includes a finisher medal and post-race food. She describes the Bolts as a seven-season program with about 40 elementary and middle-school runners per season. They practice in the Wimbledon park and compete against area teams. Race proceeds support that neighborhood program.
