What’s Happening at HCESD 9: Cy-Fair Fire Department Invites Residents to December 18 Public Meeting
For residents of Vcl Lakeside, staying engaged with local public safety services just got easier. The Harris County Emergency Services District No. 9 (HCESD 9) will hold its next public board meeting on Monday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., at the Cy-Fair Fire Department Administration Building, located at 10710 Telge Road, Houston, TX 77095. All members of the public are invited to attend — and encouraged to participate.
For those unfamiliar, HCESD 9 funds and oversees the Cy-Fair Fire Department, one of the largest emergency services departments in Texas. Serving over 600,000 residents across 164 square miles in unincorporated northwest Harris County, including Vcl Lakeside, the department provides critical fire suppression, rescue services, and 24/7 emergency medical care. With more than 600 firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics, Cy-Fair FD responds to over 40,000 calls annually.
The decisions made at these public meetings impact how emergency services are delivered across the district — from staffing levels and response times to capital investments, equipment purchases, and community programs. Attending these meetings is a way for residents to stay informed and involved in the future of local public safety.
