Unleashing Creativity Through Theatre Arts: Playhouse 1960 Opens Registration for Summer Camps

This summer, youth across the Cy-Fair community are invited to be a part of interactive summer camps at Playhouse 1960 that allow kids to be an integral part of the magic that is live theatre.

Established in 1960, the Playhouse has fostered an environment that nurtures creativity and encourages personal growth for over 60 years. With their dedicated and highly skilled team, Playhouse 1960 has been offering summer camps that blend fun, learning, and a whole lot of stage action, providing an ideal platform for kids to discover, hone, and exhibit their talents.

Their immersive two-week camp productions are carefully designed to ensure that young theater enthusiasts get a taste of the complete process of putting together a theater production. From auditioning for roles, understanding character nuances, learning about set and costume design, to finally showcasing their talent in two public performances, Playhouse 1960's camps serve as a 360-degree theater workshop.

Disney’s Frozen Jr.

Disney’s Frozen Jr. is a magical journey exploring the emotional bond and journey of sisterhood between princesses Anna and Elsa. Filled with humour, magic, and adventure, this heartwarming musical discloses the hidden potentials of our beloved characters when faced with danger.

SIX Teen Edition is an exhilarating musical that reimagines the six wives of Henry VIII as pop icons, blending 500 years of historical narrative with 21st-century girl power. The musical has turned into a global sensation, making everyone lose their heads with excitement.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. takes the audience to a magical underwater kingdom where Ariel, a young mermaid, aspires to leave her oceanic home behind for the world above. Facing obstacles from her father, King Triton, and the evil sea witch, Ursula, Ariel has to prove to Prince Eric that she is the girl with the enchanting voice he's been seeking.
