After months of local buzz, construction clues, and plenty of speculation, the long-anticipated arrival of Trader Joe’s in Cypress is finally here. According to Trader Joe's, the nationally loved grocery store will officially open its doors on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 9715 Towne Lake Pkwy, Cypress, TX 77433, near the Boardwalk at Towne Lake.
A celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony will kick off the celebration at 7:55 a.m., just before the doors open at 8:00 a.m. Store Captain Sierra Flores and her team of Crew Members—many of whom are local hires—will be ready to welcome Cypress shoppers to what will be the very first Trader Joe’s store in the community.
This 9,984-square-foot store isn’t just another grocery option—it’s a highly awaited addition for Cypress. The store’s location offers convenient access for Towne Lake residents, nearby neighborhoods, Lone Star College–CyFair students, and Boardwalk visitors alike.
A National Favorite with Local Roots
Trader Joe’s first opened in 1967 in Southern California and has since grown to over 615 stores nationwide across 42 states and Washington, D.C. Despite its national presence, each Trader Joe’s operates with a local flair—focusing on community-based hiring and a warm, neighborhood vibe.
In the Greater Houston area, Trader Joe’s already has six locations, including stores in The Woodlands, Katy, Sugar Land, and inside Houston city limits. The new Cypress location marks the chain’s continued expansion into fast-growing suburban communities, and joins the upcoming Kingwood location as part of that Texas growth.

Cypress residents have been following rumors of Trader Joe’s coming to Towne Lake for months—dating back to early 2025 when a construction permit and a wine store application hinted at the grocer’s arrival. Though the company remained quiet for a time, those hints fueled community excitement. Now, the long wait is over.
Operating hours for the Cypress Trader Joe’s will be 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.
