Tomball Art League Invites Local Artists to Enter 2026 Fall Show & Sale
For artists around Tomball, fall brings more than cooler weather. It also brings one of the community’s long-running opportunities to put original work in front of neighbors, fellow artists and a guest judge.
The Tomball Art League 2026 Fall Show & Sale is set for Oct. 8-10, 2026, at the Lone Star College-Tomball Community Library, located at 30555 Tomball Parkway in Tomball. The annual event is designed to give local and regional artists of varying experience levels a place to exhibit their work, compete for awards and, for eligible participants, offer artwork for sale.
Online registration opens Sept. 15 and closes Sept. 27, 2026.
For residents who simply enjoy discovering local talent, the public portion of the show and sale is scheduled for Oct. 9 and 10, offering another way to support the artists who help shape Tomball’s creative community.
Fall Art Show Gives Tomball Artists a Local Stage
The 2026 Fall Show & Sale is an open-entry show, meaning eligible submissions will be accepted and judged for awards rather than being screened through a preselection process.
This year’s guest judge is Susan Sheets, and the event is also an Lone Star Art Guild qualifying show.
That distinction can matter for artists looking to advance their work into broader competition. Active members of an LSAG-affiliated league whose entries earn Best of Show, first, second, third or first honorable mention at an LSAG qualifying show can become eligible to enter the Lone Star Art Guild Annual Show.
The Tomball event will feature a range of artistic styles and media, giving visitors a chance to see what area artists have been creating while giving participating artists an opportunity for recognition, feedback and greater exposure.
Adult, Student and Emerging Artists Can Participate
The show is open to adult artists as well as students in kindergarten through 12th grade, helping make the annual exhibition a multigenerational showcase.
Adult artists must submit their entries through the LSAG Members Database, while student artists use the Tomball Art League’s student entry form.
Entry fees are:
- $9 per piece for Tomball Art League adult members
- $12 per piece for other adult artists
- $2 per piece for students and US VETS residents
Entry fees are due during intake at the beginning of the show. According to the Tomball Art League, payment options include cash, check, credit cards and select electronic payments.
Artists should also review the applicable Lone Star Art Guild show rules and prospectus requirements before registering. Art identification tags are required for submitted pieces.
Artwork drop-off is scheduled for Oct. 8 from 1:30 to 6 p.m., with artwork pickup scheduled for Oct. 10 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Public Show and Sale Offers a Way to Support Local Art
The public show and sale on Oct. 9 and 10 turns the event into more than a competition.
It gives Tomball-area residents an opportunity to meet the local art community through the work itself — from established artists who have spent years refining their craft to students who may be exhibiting publicly for the first time.
Artists who want to sell work in the separate sale area must be Tomball Art League members or US VETS residents. The sale area is separate from the juried show and follows its own preparation and sales rules.
For shoppers, that creates an opportunity to purchase original art locally rather than from a mass-market retailer, while supporting artists connected to Tomball and the surrounding region.
Tomball Art League Has Been Part of the Community Since 1983
The Fall Show & Sale continues a local arts tradition that stretches back more than four decades.
The Tomball Art League was established in 1983 with a mission centered on promoting visual arts, creating opportunities for artists to learn from one another and enriching the community through exhibitions, education and public events.
Its roots are connected to the Lone Star Art Guild, which dates to 1961.
Over the years, the league has met in several familiar Tomball locations, including Samuel Matthews Park, the former Graceview Baptist Church and Amegy Bank. Since 2018, the group has met at the Tomball library, which has also become a home for exhibitions and art shows.
Today, the league reports 94 members.
Like many community organizations, the Tomball Art League experienced a decline in membership and activity during the COVID-19 pandemic, but participation has since stabilized and begun growing again. In 2024, the organization upgraded the trailer it uses to store exhibition panels and other equipment as membership and show needs expanded.
Beyond the fall event, the league holds monthly meetings, visiting artist demonstrations, member exhibitions, juried shows and rotating displays at community locations. Those programs are intended to give artists opportunities to develop their skills while helping keep visual art accessible to residents.
Why the Tomball Art League Fall Show Matters Locally
Community art shows can sometimes look simple from the outside: framed pieces on display, ribbons awarded and visitors walking the aisles.
For the artists involved, however, exhibiting work publicly can represent months of practice, experimentation and personal effort. For younger artists especially, seeing a piece displayed alongside work from experienced creators can be an early milestone.
And for the wider Tomball community, events such as the Fall Show & Sale create a place where residents can see the creativity developing close to home.

What Artists Need to Know Before Registration Opens
Artists interested in the Tomball Art League 2026 Fall Show & Sale can begin registering Sept. 15 and should complete online registration by Sept. 27.
Adult entrants should review the adult prospectus and LSAG rules before submitting entries, while families of K-12 artists should review the student prospectus and student registration requirements.
