Three CFISD Girls' Basketball Teams Advance to Regional Quarterfinals

The Cypress Ranch, Cypress Springs and Langham Creek high school girls’ basketball teams advanced past the area round of the UIL Class 6A playoffs and move on to the regional quarterfinals, which will include an all-CFISD matchup, while Cypress Creek, Cypress Ridge andJersey Village high schools concluded their seasons.  

Cypress Ranch High School beat Conroe Grand Oaks, 69-60. The Mustangs advance to face Tomball Memorial at 6 p.m. on Feb. 21 at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road). 

Cypress Ranch High School junior Morghan Prevost and the Mustangs defeated Conroe Grand Oaks in the area round. The Mustangs advance to face Tomball Memorial at 6 p.m. on Feb. 21 at Cypress Creek High School.

Cypress Springs High School defeated Conroe Oak Ridge, 64-31. The Panthers advance to face Langham Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 at Bridgeland High School (10707 Mason Road). 

Langham Creek High School beat Spring, 63-43, to advance. 

Langham Creek High School senior Aniyah Sanford and the Lobos basketball team defeated Spring and advanced to face Cypress Springs in an all-CFISD regional quarterfinal. They’ll meet at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 at Bridgeland High School. 

Tickets are $5 each for adults and students. Tickets for Cypress Ranch, Cypress Springs andLangham Creek will be sold online. 

Cypress Creek High School was defeated by Fort Bend Hightower, 64-34. The Cougars were District 17-6A’s second seed and finished the season as area round finalists. 

Cypress Ridge High School was defeated by Katy Tompkins, 54-43. The Rams were District 17-6A’s fourth seed and finished the season as area round finalists. 

Jersey Village High School was defeated Katy, 54-38. The Falcons were District 17-6A’s third seed and finished the season as area round finalists.
