Take a Trip with Katy's Fussell Senior Center This Month

September 07 2023

The City of Katy's Senior Services Department believes that it’s important for seniors to stay busy and on-the-go because it helps keep them young at heart. The department strives to accomplish this through a variety of activities and programs, including day trips to destinations both near and far.

During the month of September, the Fussell Senior Center has several exciting trips lined up, all of which include transportation. Local seniors interested in participating simply need to call the center at 281-391-4837 to signup, then arrive at the Fussell Senior Center at the designated time of departure. All of the planning details are arranged in advance by Senior Services staff, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the trip!

Check out this lineup of trips and call the center to get signed up. Space is limited, so don't delay.

Helpful Information About Trips

If you will be going on an all-day trip and are able to safely cross 5th street, please note that the Fussell Senior Center parking lot has limited parking available. You are welcome to park in the church parking lot across the street from the Fussell Senior Center so seniors who are attending daily activities at the center may find a spot.

Prior to precinct bus trips, each passenger will be given a numbered chip indicating the order in which you and your seat mate may enter the bus. Seating is first come first served. Participants are asked to refrain from sitting in the front bus seats, as they are saved for supplies and the trip coordinator. Seniors may be allowed to sit in the front bus seats at the coordinator's discretion. Since temperatures are difficult to control on the bus, participants are encouraged to bring a portable fan or jacket in extreme temperatures. Valuables may not be secure when left on the bus, so participants are encouraged to bring a small bag to carry all important belongings.

Food and drink is not allowed on any bus with the exception of water in a closed, no leak container. Also, please note that bathroom or food stops are typically planned in advance. If an additional stop is required, please notify the trip coordinator immediately.

Have questions? Contact the Fussell Senior Center at 281-391-4837 or stop by the Center, located at 5370 E. Fifth Street
Katy, TX 77493. Please note that the Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Want more? The Fussell Senior Center has several activities planned every week day. Check out their events calendar here and get plugged in. As the Fussell Senior Center says, "why stay at home when you can go!"
